Only a 15 minutes detour from the Pacific Rim National Park highway you will find the Teodoro Trail. The path heads to some old growth Douglas fir and has some really nice views of the Taylor Arm portion of Sproat Lake. May sometimes be overgrown.

It's a relatively light hike with just a couple short sections of considerable incline. There are a few viewpoints of Sproat Lake and the surrounding mountains. I would recommend hiking Teodoro with a fully charged phone or GPS: there are several crossings with other trails and it could be easy to get lost or put onto a different trail. Probably would hike this again if I lived nearby... next time I'm coming through town though I'd rather try something else.

The trailhead for this trail is less than 5 minutes off Hwy 4 to Tofino. The trail is a 2.5 hour hike that meanders through second growth and old growth and features a magnificent view of the west end of Sproat lake and of Mount Klitsa. I don't recommend it for young children. The trail varies from broad, flat and easily followed to narrow and steep. There are a couple of wet spots and some blowdown that hasn't been cleared from the trail.
