As Vancouver's largest and most famous, historic park, Stanley Park is extremely popular with both locals and tourists all year around. The heavily trafficked Seawall Loop Trail that surrounds the park hugs the perimeter shoreline and offers beautiful views from beginning to end. To be clear, this is not a hiking trail, and not even your typical smooth gravel walking path. It is smoothly paved all around with two separate side by side paths; the beachside for foot traffic and the inner one for bikes and rollerblades. Despite being so busy, the footpath is quite wide and there is usually enough room to pass when needed. It is very well suited for both strollers and wheelchairs. This trail is open 365 days a year which brings us to what is perhaps it's only drawback. When temperatures reach freezing, the paved path can accumulate very slippery black ice, so extra caution is required. A park conditions search is highly recommended during the winter months.  Parking is readily available at numerous lots throughout the park. However, none are free and prices vary depending on the season and chosen lot. An alternative option is to simply take transit. A convenient bus stop for both pick up and drop off is located right next to the Seawall.

Beautiful trail with water on one side and the park on the other. I travelled on a bike which lead me through a trail with some slopes but the pedestrian trail along the outside of the park is flat.

Nice flat trail, nice place to see Vancouver Skyline view, but super busy all the time. One direction if you are cyclist. I usually loop the trail twice on my bike in the very early morning.

Took 2 hours to finish this easy, relaxed and beautiful loop trail! This landmark trail bears lot of spectacular views over the downturn Vancouver, yacht and row boat clubs, beach, Lion Bridge and Lady in swimsuit statue.... Highly recommend for everyone!

Nice escape from the city - can get very busy some days. Careful of bikes on some portions, and depending on time of year can have lots of ice. Partial closures are not uncommon either.

This was absolutely beautiful. We walked over 14 miles that day. Vancouver is absolutely stunning. I went in March and the weather was perfect for a stroll in Stanley Park. I can't wait to go back! You can walk, bike or run this path.

The Seawall loop cannot be completed as of Jan16, 2020. There are two closed gates; one near Prospect Point and another at Siwash Rock. We got around the Prospect Point gate but failed at Siwash. Finished the loop by backtracking and using Merilee's Trail. So 15 km instead of 9.3 km

One of the best parts of Vancouver. Was there a year and half ago. Some parts are narrow, and so you are required to walk your bicycle. There was a lady that didn't listen, and fell into the sea. The current was really rough, and so she managed to get some nasty gashes before her and her bike were rescued. A few areas to stop and swim along the way. Biking is a brilliant way to see the park, very scenic.

paved throughout perimeter which makes biking & walking enjoyable. Many places to stop & sit & should take a little over an hour to complete. Definitely do this if you’re in the Vancouver area but expect many people!
