I loved this hike. We took 2.5 hours to complete it as we stopped a couple times along the way to admire the old growth. There are a few scrambles but overall it's an easy hike. Bring water as the pump at the campground isn't in service due to Covid.

Trail has re-opened to day use. River is very clear this time of year, lower water levels and several nice lookouts over the river along the trail. The Mile 66 trestle bridge is very well situated and magnificent, for a steel trestle. Trails in good shape. Watch out for giant hogweed near the trailside on the north side near the group campground.

**Giving this 5 stars as I don’t want to discredit a hike we never did** Please note that this trail is marked CLOSED for COVID measures (Apr 4 2020). My partner and I turned back to our car but we’re pretty surprised a bunch of people were ignoring the signage and hiking it anyway. Park officers were driving by to monitor when we were leaving. Just a heads up for other hikers looking to head out there! Will come back to hike it, as it looks wonderful.

Great hike today with eagles crying out through the trees and the trail in good (not muddy) condition. Be cautious on the wooden sections- no grates on-top and VERY slippery

Great wilderness walk, beautiful changing landscape. A few challenging steep dry slippery sections both up and down. Wish I’d brought my bathing suit to jump in the river at the end.

The trail was harder than I anticipated. The south side had a number of quite steep sections with loose and slippery gravel. The river is very beautiful but there is not a waterfall along this trail.

Great trail. River rapids, lots of up and down terrain. Yet, easy to moderate

Sublime beauty. North side old growth replanted , a couple of steep section where you can slide. Lots of roots but generally easy. On the south side a couple of sweet swimming holes close to the trail head. Have a drink from the pump. There’s an access road on the south side if you need to bail.

Great hike! Some steep include depending on which way you go first but definitely a fun challenging hike. Only a few spots where you can get into the water without climbing down a ledge. And of course beautiful views!!

Beautiful, would not consider this hike unless you are can handle heights and are steady on your feet. Wear good shoes as ground is uneven and some areas that you could slip.

This trail should be rated Moderate as there are several fall hazards along the south route without protection. Some steep climbs along the way, requiring a little scrambling that has to be done as well, however the hike is really nice in cooler weather. Recommend good hiking shoes and water when temps above 25C

This was challenging for a relatively novice hiker but well worth the time. We hiked from sckultz falls to trestle, about 3 km. Phone died prior to walk so I left it in van to charge... no photos :(
