I did about 10km total of this the other evening, in torrential rain. I think maybe I didn’t go far enough to get to the more exciting part of the trail (I did next to no elevation), but this is in one of the parts of the forest that got really badly burnt. So it’s just 5km of walking through tree graveyards. As it was raining so much there were several small streams to wade through, and what I imagine would normally be marshy was just ankle deep in water, but I turned around when one of the streams was a little deeper. Trail itself was well kept and very easy, though.

I have done this trail twice. 1982 and 2016. Bridge at Suprise Creek gone in 2016. This route is not used much . We saw no other hikers our 3 days getting to core Assinaboine area. Beautiful hike.
