Great hike. Done in sneakers. Mixed terrain. Old bridge was spectacular. Would definitely recommend but safety here is a must!

This is a great easy trek to the bridge, however there are no trespassing signs posted multiple times along the trail. Once at the tunnel, the trail up and around is quite sketchy, there are wires to help you up but still quite a ways down if you slip and fall. Definitely recommend good footing and good hiking boots for this one, however I’m sure it could be done in sneakers. Walking along the old rail bed is special and cool vibes through the trees. I wouldn’t do this trail in bad weather or super windy conditions for safety reasons.

The trestle is neat but the trail getting there is treacherous. Part of it coming down after the entrance to the collapsed tunnel has washed away, forcing you to step over onto a narrow dirt ledge, and the trail after it has been covered by a rock slide. Limited viewing options once you get there combined with the damage after the recent fire and it's hard to justify the risk.

Before the bridge the trail has been destroyed by a rockslide. It is no longer safe to cross in the slide area. As we stood watching a slight breeze was enough to set rocks the size of baseballs rolling from above us. Time to close this one down.
