A stunning hike through ancient cedar forest with massive old trees along the way. A little creek with a bench makes for a perfect photo pop along the way. Can be done as an out and back from the lodge, or carry on to connect to the Rail Trail for a longer hike.

Beautiful old growth trees with some lovely views enroute to Island Lake Lodge. We take many visitors here for a sweet hike up, some lunch and a beer, then hike back down to the car. Nice cool forest on a hot day. Good for most ages with some steepish bits.

Fun, easy trail. Well marked, well maintained trail with lots of picturesque views of the mountains and old growth cedars. We had a blast even though it was raining!

This is all around EPIC hike. Fairly short and easy, but the tree's and mountains views are spectacular. I've done this trail few times and would never turn down a chance to do it again.

we took two vehicles and parked one at the bottom and drove the other one to the top (we had our parents with us and weren't sure if they would be able to do the uphill climb). We descended down to our vehicle and scored amazing views of the biggest red cedars we've ever seen. Our little kids loved the hike as well.

This was a nice little trail with beautiful scenery. We did this one directly after completing the lake trail. Relatively easy trail.

Started from Island Creek Lodge. Very beautiful trail, could be narrow at times which was tricky due to mud but led down to some of the most beautiful trees and small creeks/waterfalls.

Love the old growth cedars

Nice trail. Hike across the mountain starting from the Elk chairlift which increases the rating to moderate. Otherwise the specific trail is pretty quick and easy.

Hiked this trail multiple times. Stunning and much easier than the moderate rating suggests. Great hike to take kids on

Awesome place to hike when the weather is little rainy as the canopy of the forest is really thick and shelters you well. Beautiful old trees and trail that leads up to the island lake lodge. Did a loop around the lake before heading back down the trail to the parking lot. At the lake we saw a moose and one of her two babies swimming across the lake to the island where she called them. Also a bear in the area but we didn’t see it anywhere so just be prepared and aware. Start at the lower parking lot and hike uphill to the lodge as it’s nicer to have the downhill on the way back down.

A beautiful hike that really lets you experience nature, neat manmade bridges, and lovely trees. If you are looking for a quick, fairly easy hike then I would recommend.

Great hike with view points through and old cedar and fir Forrest. Cool huge trees. Do the lake trail at the top before stopping at the lodge for a beer.
