These are not my preferred type of trail. River rock, marbley gravel aren't my favourite. Not a fan of logging roads for trails as well. Some butt burning incline going up is expected and welcomed. However the vistas at the top are simply stunning. If I enjoyed the journey a tad more it would have definitely been rated 5.

Lots of ways to get up to the summit, we took Quimper Summit trail on the way up and came back via the quimper connector and sooke mt trail. Nice moderate hike through the forest, and pretty views from the fire lookout. A bit of loose rock at times, and gets steepest towards the summit.

Note: drove off without ending recording! Great hike. Fairly easy, good payoff at the top, views of USA snowcaps across the ocean strait Intertwined with mountain biking trails, but wasn't busy, I didn't come across any coming down at me

Great hike and beautiful views at the summit. I got there at 8am and didn't see anyone else until I reached the summit. by 10 there were lots of people on the mountain. BE AWARE: There are bears in this area! Make lots of noise as you hike so the bears know you're there.

Beautiful day for this hike today. View worth 1 hour climb to the summit! Also enjoyed single track meandering Juniper trail off back side on the way down.

This recording is of the hiking route to the summit. It is currently overgrown in one spot and minor growth over large sections of the trail.

We followed the Mt Quimper Summit trail up to the lookout cabin. It took us about 3.5 hours round trip. Moderately steep and lots of small streams along the path so wear decent shoes. Beautiful views along the way and from the top. The trail wasn’t busy which was nice.

March 10: there was barely any snow. Rocky conditions means you have to watch your footing a bit more. But it was a great hike up with a constant incline.

I feel this trail is definitely moderate. Starts off easy and about 30 mins in the difficulty increases. I took Quimper Summit Trail on the way up and the way down took Quimper Connector and Sooke Mountain Trails and it took me just over 3 hours. I recommend hiking that route in that order as the quimper trail is a good hike and the sooke mountain trail looks like an old gravel road. The trails in my opinion follow a semidry stream/river bed so its quite rocky for a good portion of the hike but its very clear and easy to follow. There are trail markers everywhere you would need one and they are very clear with direction. Parts of the trail were submerged so prepare with good boots or to venture off the pathway! You dont need hiking poles but they were useful.

Beautiful views at the top and several viewpoints on your way. This trail is essentially all at an incline on your way up but otherwise not very technical. Make sure to bring hydration, and I would recommend bringing a small lunch too! Took us about 3 hours in all (including time taken to eat at the top). Would definitely recommend for anyone looking for a solid hike.

The start of the trail is a gravel/dirt road. There's not much to see until you get off the Sooke mountain trail and transition over to the Juniper trail. It will roughly take 30-45 min to get off this road. The incline is very consistent. It does get quite a bit steeper as you get closer to the peak. However this change in gradation is very short.
