This is a perfect example of a perfectly average trail. It's there and back. Not too long, not too short. Not too difficult, and not too easy. Not particularly stunning, but not an ulgy one either. It can be quite crowded especially on the weekends. Definitely, not recommended for solitude seekers. The designated parking lot is usually in high demand. All kinds of visitors come here: trail runners, dog walkers, people with small children, seniors and a general hiking crowd. It's the main trail in the Mount Work park, so there you have it. The trail is relatively easy with a couple medium difficulty spots towards the summit. The scenery is forest only until you get to the very top. At the summit, you'll find some beautiful ocean vistas. Personally, I am not too crazy about this trail because of parking issues, business and lack of visual diversity; however, I would recommend it for a leisurely walk or a quick run up the hill, or if you would like to combine it with other trails in the same park, which are less busy.

A go to for sure. The best views are a bit before or a bit after the actual summit.

I would recommend this trail to anyone looking for a slight challenge on a moderate trail. Dog friendly, mostly in shade, beautiful trail. Steep and some rocky areas making coming down a little more difficult. Great views form a couple of places on the way up. Keep walking past the summit sign to get another great view, only about 2mins walk.

Great trail. Well marked. A good challenge. My two small dogs had no problems getting to the top.

Jolie randonnée sans grandes difficultés. Encore et toujours des groupes de chiens n'etant pas sous contrôle

Hiked this with three kids and my 64yo dad. It was a hot day for a hike, but always worth the view!

Overall a well-maintained and well-marked trail. Gets a little confusing when you hit the rocks to scrabble over about 90% of the way to the summit, but just keep going and you’ll find the trail again. Nice variety of inclines and declines and the vast majority of the trail was shaded, which was nice. Didn’t need poles, but there are some gravely patches that can be a bit slippery on the way back down. Beautiful views at the top. Worth every bit of huffing and puffing on the way up!

Extremely icy conditions with knee deep snow off trail. Poles helped but ice crampons were way better. Ravens and eagles soaring in the thermals. Lovely but exhausting.

The trail head is easy to find. It leaves from parking lot, and as you pull into the lot the trail head is on your left. Great workout. Hour up to the summit, and an hour getting down. I thought it was more like 2 miles to the summit from the parking lot. Peaceful, but enough traffic that I didn’t feel unsafe. The trail is well marked, and a nice view from the top. Shaded almost the way.
