Note: Marble Canyon parking lot is CLOSED due to construction. However, it is possible to reach the trail by parking at Paint Pots, which is further south along HWY 93. The prettiest little pull off for an up close, quick peek of the glacier blue water. Very well established trail. Not too crowded. Perfect pit stop on the way to Banff.

Forget Johnson Canyon, Marble Canyon is 10x better and way less touristy. It is absolutely beautiful there, with such amazing mountain views. Still a little muddy on the one side, but nothing too much. Easy hike, very family friendly

20 May 2020: Short walk to view the fascinating contrast between the blackened remnants of the 2003 Kootenay Forest Fire, the young green pine forest, whilst being set around the colourful stone and flowing water and falls of Marble Canyon. A little muddy and icy at parts, but we were okay in trainers. Having the place to ourselves, with the rain hitting the pine forest floor bringing out the smells of spring, along with a few little birds and critters, it was a really great experience. Just a shame about the litter around the trailhead.

Very stunning views over the canyon. Not really a hike, but more a short walk. Still pretty snowy (April 30), would recommend waiting a few weeks.

Went a long time ago (summer 2018?) but definitely worth a review to say this is a great little place to stretch the legs. Kootenay NP is an underrated park forever in the shadow of Banff and Jasper. Do this quick trail to see a glimpse of its beauty and maybe you’ll want to explore a bit more.

We stopped more to stretch our legs, it’s an amazing canyon. Worth a visit. Was hot, our dogs loved going for a quick dip. Went sept 2018 totally forgot to add a review

We hiked this on Feb 22. This is such a good spot to stop and stretch your legs! The parking lot is not closed even though the description says that it is. Note: The snow on the trail has accumulated so much that the railings are only at about knee height! I would be careful hiking here with any loose little ones running around. The snow is packed and only slippery on one hill with a railing, so no need for spikes or snow shoes Well worth the stop! It’s not busy right now, the snow is beautiful and fluffy, and the hike into the canyon is so short. We even had the pleasure of watching some ice climbers in the canyon.

Pretty nice path, well established. The main parking lot is closed currently because of construction, but we hiked over from the Paint Pots (pretty short, easy hike). It wasn't busy at all, again because of the construction, so we were able to wander leisurely and capture lots of photos.

Closed but love to do this again and again with the kids. Park has done a great job with the bridges enabling you to take in the view of the slot canyon from above.

We hiked here in Nov 2018. It was beautiful! Gorgeous views of the water and area. We didn't finish the trail due to a time restraint and I've been wanting to go back since. Saw some snowshoers on the trail so I think I'd bring my pair if I go again in the winter.

Nice little hike to stretch your legs. Really cool being able to look down the canyon with all of the bridges that pass over top.

F ya. Do it. Bring a camera and just spend as much time as you can on the bridges. This is the most stunning visual representation and it take zero time to get there. Everyone should check this place out.

I hiked to the end of the Marble Canyon trail on Sunday April 21. Dry and wet trail at the start. Once you get in it become wet and then snowy. Very beautiful and easy hike. Microspikes might help some people towards the end of the trail.

Very simple easy trail, barely a hike. Great views of the canyon and surrounding area through the whole way. Very busy when we went and unfortunately were seeing LOTS of people jumping the fenses and getting way too close to ledges for pictures.

Have done this short hike several times in summer and it was just as beautiful in winter. Snow was well packed so didn’t use snowshoes.
