Beautiful trail! Good for dogs. Easy to navigate. We did the big loop. It was quite muddy but it is January. Couple small hills to get your blood pumping but mostly gradual inclines.

This trail is very easy in that it has no steep inclines, however, if you have mobility issues or are otherwise unstable, a lot of the bridges and walkways are breaking down- which made this a way more cool walk for my 5 year old. I was expecting this to be similar to the dinosaur walk (Cable Bay - Nanaimo) or the gnome door walk (Neck Point - Nanaimo), due to its other name "gnome trail" and the reviews of others. This is not the case - there are no actual gnomes or treasures to find. This is a beautiful trail, and definitely a great one to do with kids - just dont set them up for the potential for real gnomes or treasures.

3k ish hike, can be long if you take different ways. Was fun looking for the gnomes and such along the way, enjoyed it. Would go back... would be great for kids.

Easy hike. Beautiful and serene. We veered off down to the creek but easy to get back on the loop trail. Loved the little gnomes and other ‘hidden’ treasures all along the hike!

great trail I would suggest doing the two optional river trails along the route. Quite muddy but no need for gum boots. awesome for dogs as well.
