Easy walk down to the falls. Picturesque! Geology- The rock was formed by layers of ash deposits from prehistoric volcanism. Where the rocks have been smoothed by flowing water, folding of the layers can be observed in the swirling patterns.
Short hike down to Myra falls. Explore and get rewarded with beautiful views.
This was a classic trail for people wearing flip-flops, although it was rather steep. The pools between the falls were fantastic a welcome break on a hot August afternoon.
We visited lower Myra falls on July 2nd. It is short walk to the falls. The water is still too cold to swim in.
Waterfall on Vancouver Island like you have never seen before. Took a long time to drive (about 2 hours from Mt. Washington where we were staying) but worth the trip. Water was too cold to swim in, and we couldn’t find our way to the bottom level or the falls like you can see from the highway. Fully recommend if you have the time!
Upper and lower myra falls are both fairly easy hikes... very short only 20 mins round trip. Beautiful views and will come back in the summer and swim!
Great little hike out to two different viewing points of the same water enormous waterfall. The lower of the two viewpoints gets you right out into the channel of the waterfall. Quite steep at some points, but the trail is well maintained. Getting right into the channel means that kids and dogs should be watched very closely. Watch your footing as some of the rocks can be quite slippery. Overall, an amazing hike!
