Beautiful azure lake, with an amazing view of Mount Robson. There are areas of the trail that are washed out including the lakeside part of the trail just crossing the river to Kinney Lake.

Trail is snowy but packed, no need for snow shoes. Kinney lake is mostly frozen, but an open spot made for nice photos

Did the hike mid October. Absolutely gorgeous! We went further up the trail past Kinney Lake and past the flats before turning around (about 10km one way) and thought it was totally worth and really interesting to explore. We thought the trail was very much on the easy side of moderate - certainly some elevation gain, but a lot of wide, even and even flat sections.

WalkingGreat!

We did this Sept 17 2020 and would call it easy, not moderate. It's not paved, but hard packed and only a bit of an elevation gain. Take a lunch and have a nice break at the lake! We took our time, had lunch, walked around the lake a bit and it took us 4 hours (14km round trip)

Did it on a very cloudy day, we couldn’t see much the greatness of mount Robson. It’s a nice little hike. We were highly recommended to do Berg lake ( 40 km of hike ) Lake kinney is on the way to go to berg lake. We regretted a lot to not having time to do it. Almost all the hikers we came across was making the entire trip to go to berg lake. On a next trip we’ll do it for sure, Berg lake is doable on a long day trip or on overnight trip. Mount Robson is just very impressive and picture perfect.

Amazing trail. Fairly slight, even gain the whole way which is exactly what I needed post car accident and covid couch potato-ness. Previous assessments where correct, the big view is right at the start of the lake, if you continue you aren’t really adding anything view-wise, and you do make an elevation gain and drop towards the first cabin. I went part of the way, mostly for the exercise. Probably won’t again. Would spend more time at the beginning of the lake. Bring a lunch and a book, lots of places to rest and enjoy. Just as a note you will need a day pass to hike, even just to Kinney lake. Info On how to get one is at the office, saves time if you get one ahead of time

We took our bikes. Uphill the majority of the way to the lake but so worth it. Awesome view of lake at the end. Fun riding down to trailhead. Get a day pass at discovercamping.ca to do the trail.

Easy hike! Parking gets extremely busy so I would suggest getting there as early as you can so you can get a spot by the trail head. Lake is absolutely breathtaking!

Nice trail, well-marked, wide, along the river with stunning views of Mount Robson — on a clear day. If you want to see only the Kinney Lake, the hike is shorter at 4.4km (50min) one-way. The hike goes on along the shore after the first lake viewpoint adding around 3km each way but without interesting views. The elevation seems to be wrong. It’s definitely not 433m, Strava marked 250 out-and-back.

This hike was short and sweet! Beautiful views all the way through with waterfalls and little benches along the lake to enjoy the view. Lots of people at the parking lot though, so I suggest getting there early before you can’t find parking.
