Final destination is worth the climb. View is spectacular. Busy when we went. trail is well maintained upto end of crushed gravel path, then climb continues on a root exposed remaining natural path. very dry and dusty when we went. Quite a few Skeeters near the top. Set your phone on panorama as you'll need it.

Trail from ski resort is beautiful, starting from a small lake and then through old growth cypress. After 3 miles trail is not maintained and is badly rutted and solid roots making for a difficult climb. Still spots of snow and mud near top. Don't bother hiking on cloudy day because the best thing about the hike is the views. Hike is really 8 miles round trip from top but feels like more. Black flies made the hike nearly unbearable. If flies bother you at parking lot, opt out for shorter hike to eagle bluffs instead.

So fun! It's a decent length to St Marks Summit which is where we stopped and turned back. It was very muddy so bring proper hiking shoes/boots for stability and so you don't wreck your runners. Bug spray is also helpful, especially towards the top. There's some steep inclines and nicer small descents to break things up. I'm excited to try this again later in the season when hopefully it dries out a bit more. Lots of people later in the day so go early to avoid crowds.

Its a beautiful hike. We went till Saint Marks summit and then turned back. There is still some snow up there but its totally doable till Saint Marks summit and I would say the view is worth the hike. I ll probably to do the entire trail sometime later in July again after the snow has melted.

Great views of Vancouver as well as the north shore ranges and Howe sound. Hiked from start to the lions camping 2 nights along the way. It was August and hot as fuck. Bring water and water purifier.
