It is a beautiful drive to the trailhead. It takes 3 km to get to the canyon, so you can do a total of 6 kms and still see the amazing river and canyon. Great lake views along the way.

You have to drive quite a bit on gravel roads to get there. Use caution as it’s only one lane for quite a bit of the drive and there’s a lot of blind spots. The trail goes through thick forest, and you get many beautiful views of the lake. This trail brings you to Fry Creek Canyon, where there was raging rapids. Use caution as the mountain is eroding and there are steep ledges. The trail is mostly downhill on the way in, and can have steep sections on the way back up. Highly recommend - beautiful views!
