WalkingGreat!

Nice walk alongside the Fraser river. Lots of people and bikes share the trail so you need to be alert. The trial nearer the Fort is quite dusty so better to wear runners than sandals as feet got pretty dirty. Worth the walk though.

We saw everyone mentioning the mosquitoes so we doused ourselves in repellent...still wasn't enough...we were swarmed and had to finally give up and go back to the car. This was in the middle of the afternoon too. I can't recommend this hike for that reason. To view our short YouTube review: https://youtu.be/jLbYhYOu584

The trail was nice, not too crowded. Mosquitoes weren’t that bad either but it was in the heat of the afternoon.

Clean trail, super buggy right now so definitely bring bug spray. Like, DOUSE yourself in it. The amount of mosquitoes was epic - plague levels.

Great trail! It’s neat that before heading to derby reach or edge water bar you can have a quick coffee in fort Langley itself! Nice trail for an easy and relaxing walk

Did the trail from Derby Reach to Fort Langley this morning. Everything was open - no portions closed. Mosquitos were extremely bad in some spots - we even ran into a couple who had turned around (& advised us to do the same). Otherwise, beautiful!

RunningClosedFlooded

As of this morning - The portion of the trail from Fort Langley (town) to the Allard Crescent junction is still closed due to flooding, and entirely fenced off so no getting around it. If you’re there for a run or ride and not a lovely walk, can go through Bedford Landing instead and go around via 96th Ave & McKinnon, then either use the Houston trail to get you to the historic Fort, or from McKinnon turn onto Allard. Derby reach is partially flooded also but open, and 208th trail is closed and very much flooded but the road is fine.

Looks like the water levels got too high - much of the trail is closed right now.

brae island regional park. June 25th 2020. Fraser River water levels very high right now. No beach access. Forested areas were humid with lots of mosquitoes due to recent weather patterns. All surrounding walking trails currently open and enjoyable.

Nice family walk on a balmy day. Mid week during the day wasn’t too busy but it can get very crowded on weekends. One of us slipped in the mud when we ran a section of the trail. Oops. But that didn’t deter us from going all the way and back.

Super busy these days. going to avoid this trip as long as the plague is upon us. Has nice sections but also has lots of road parts with little to see. If you like busy this is for you, if you dont come find me in the forest on a run somewhere

Mostly level, very picturesque busy as morning evolves. Ft. Langley side offers choices of coffee shops or restaurants. During rainy days lots of puddles form on the pathway but not too muddy.
