This is probably one of my favourite hikes in the area, we do it at least once a year! It's a long, steady climb with plenty of elevation gain. There are plenty of places to take breaks, though, and there a few scenic lookouts before you reach the top; however, most of the hike is through the forest. Once you're at the top, be careful and stay away from the cliff edges, they're very steep and have eroded in the last few years. The views from the top are amazing and definitely worth the challenge! Bring a picnic and enjoy a well earned break at the top!

A great hike

Simply put, it's a great hike with a constant elevation gain to some pretty impressive cliffs. Don't get to close to the edge at the very end as it'll be a long way down. Lots of switchbacks which are good so please keep on them as to preserve the integrity of the slope. Took about 2 hours up and 1 down at a good pace. Enjoy the views.

We did this hike with 2 moderately fit adults, a 19 year old, 14 year old, & a 2 year old mountain dog. It took us 3 hours & 40 minutes. Pretty steep incline with a few switch backs that help. Terrain is a dirt path with areas of rock, very narrow. Dogs are allowed off leash but we let ours off because the path was too narrow and she was fine and nobody seemed bothered by it. There is not a lot to look at as you are primarily walking through trees but once you get to the top it is pretty cool to see the views! There is also a lookout point a little more than half way up. Make sure to bring snacks and lots of water. We thought we had lots but ran out about 3/4 of the way through. Hiking boots are recommended but not a must as our 14 year old did it in running shoes. I would do this hike again.

I did this hike with myself with 3 kids all under 14 years. It was definitely a challenge, but we managed to complete it in under 4 1/2 hours, stopping for lunch at the top. The trails are well groomed and the switchbacks helped. It was 35 degrees out. Better planning would have had us leave earlier in the morning. I would do it again! Safe, moderate difficulty.
