Short easy trail. It was a little socked in so didn't have the views but it was still a beautiful winter wonderland. Peaceful. You can check out our hike here: https://youtu.be/z68m5QFCso0

easy, family friendly, gentle switchbacks and not pronounced hills at all. Lake is somewhat underwhelming, although it's always beautiful!. at kids pace we did 2 hours round trip with stops for whining, complaining and pictures, lol! we got a very light flurry, trail was considerably muddy.

2-4hrs round trip.. Great little hike through the forest. Fairly busy due to how easy the hike is. Beautiful lake as the reward ending. Perfect hike to enjoy a lunch by the lake, or just stretch your legs. Bring water. Dog friendly on leash.

Quite scenic. A rewarding dip in the lake is always nice.

Trail was easy and the lake was beautiful. Near the end once the trail got closer to the lake there was a fallen tree on the path that would be difficult to walk under so you have to go slightly off the trail to get around. That being said its a very peaceful lake and you can walk right along the lake shore.

Great hike, well worth the uphill at the beginning. Right at Marsh point where you can go along the lake there is a couple trees that have fallen over the path. Not to hard to duck under then you’re free to walk the shore.

Great hike. Some trees covering the trail that have fallen down. Make sure to rest at the random bench before the descent to the lake. Wade a little in the Kootenay river, refreshing!

The trail was beautiful. Storm blew over while I was on the trail knocking trees over, so I couldn't make it to the lake. but other then that the sun came out and it was a beautiful hike. part of the trail dried up fast once the sun came out. Will do again once they clear the trees.

Nice quick hike to a pretty mountain lake! Lots of families and great trail for dogs! Should have brought our bathing suits. Starts at campground, cross the river(very pretty) and then an easy hike up and down to the lake! Loved it!

This would have been a really nice quick hike in dry conditions! However, whilst completing this trail a hail storm passed through and left the trail extremely muddy and slippery. This made it a little treacherous in some parts, I have the bruises tonight to prove it! Needs a few days of dryer conditions and this will again be a great hike for sure.

We did this trail with our 2 kids ages 14 and 12. It was fairly easy, we loved the suspension bridge. The lake was beautiful, but the trail was extremely muddy. I'm not sure it was worth hiking through so much mud.

May long weekend was very quiet. Did this hike with two kids (10 & 12) in under 3 hours with a lunch break at the lake. Slightly muddy but no snow. The bridge crossings were great and well maintained. Lake at the top was gorgeous with snow covered peaks in the distance. Would go again.

We hiked this towards the end of family day weekend. The path was snowy but well packed from earlier visitors, we didn’t need snow shoes and the path was easy to follow. We crossed paths with one other couple on this trail who were towing a sled with a toddler (looked difficult with the hills and snow). The highlight for us was the bridge river crossings at the beginning of the trail, the lake at the end was covered and just looked like a snowy field. Overall, easy and enjoyable. Would love to come back and hike again in the summer.

Did this on Family Day weekend after lots of fresh snow. Snowshoers has gone before us otherwise we never would have found the trail. Got to the lake and there were no trail markers so had to come back on the same trail. Not well used in the winter. Long steady uphill climb most of the way Steeper downhill to the lake. Would be pretty in the summer.

incredible animal tracks all over trail- cougar? wolf? lynx?

I don't reccomend this hike due to mosquitos, and it was easy to miss the lake and hike in even heavier mosquitos. Hiked this from the campground, by the theater. 2 suspension bridges have pretty view of river. Sign after bridge was helpful. A few flowers were pretty in the woods. Take an unmarked but dirt, well trodden trail to right to reach lake. if you get to the next, confusing trail sign (by the warped railroad style wooden bridge), turn around, you passed it. The trail also thins, and there's thicker plant life and mosquitos after that. Also bear activity in area.

Nice, easy trail with pretty scenery. A good low-elevation option for when the weather is questionable as it was the day we went. I imagine this trail would get quite busy on nice days, so I recommend going on a rainy day and/or in shoulder season like we did. It was still fairly busy, but not too bad since it was late September and it was intermittently rainy.

Deep into the woods and a decent incline but beautiful views of the forest. Quiet. 6 km and worth it
