We enjoyed the hike through the forest. It was a cool morning and were the only ones on the trail up to Cypress Lake. There are so many different trails you can take to the lake and decided to ‘Choose your Own Adventure’ ! We meandered off trail to take photos and videos. Had a snack at the lake and hung for a bit, then trekked down. Saw bikers and hikers coming back down. Definitely wouldn’t rate this as a hard trail, though there are some technical parts with rocks, muddy parts, & crossing the creek. There are also small falls (the sounds were calming). All round, I go again and take the different trails!

Pretty boring hike but would be decent on a hot day given the amount of shaded area. The lake is a bit underwhelming.

I would rate it top moderate. It's actually a mountain motorbike trail. Lots of rocks make it a bit hard.

A quiet mostly shaded mountain bike trail up to the reservoir with very few people even on a Saturday. Pretty easy on the knees on the mulch and a couple of creeks to cross. More moderate and not hard. We saw 3 big cars offroading but easy to avoid. We followed the trail on AllTrails but there are a few other trails that could be explored around too

The “wall” part of this hike was spectacular, I really enjoyed it. What a beautiful forest. After the “wall” the rest of the hike was more or less a logging / 4X4 road that lead you up to the lake, not very exciting. Cypress lake was very pretty, but my understanding is you’re not supposed to swim in it. Which is unfortunate because it would make the hike much more worthwhile if you could go for a dip.

Did this due to Buntzen lake parking lot being full. Definitely would not rate this trail as hard, moderate, for sure. Beautiful old growth forest, nice and cool on a hot day. Not too shabby for one chosen on a whim. Ended up going off trail a lot, so actually hiked closer to 13.5 km and took 4 hours.

We did this trail on Saturday after getting turned around at Buntzen lake as parking was completely full. Overall it was a decent little hike. I would definitely not rate it as hard. It’s more moderate and you have to be careful as the trail isn’t super clearly marked (which may be why it’s rated as hard).

Beautiful lake once you get to the top. Make sure to have a gps map to follow ( all trails pro). We had to check where we were going multiple times. Don’t let that deter you though, awesome hike. Took us 3 hours. Much quicker coming back down

It was good. Rugged as expected with lots of Creek crossing. No snow up there. I enjoyed it except the lake was all foggy so no view and on the way back we had a creek crossing where there was a decent size waterfall and so we fell (the directed way on the wall trail back). Some people could handle it, but personally I would do a different route back. We also got lost and were highly dependent on AllTrails. We did a loop twice and then opted for going the longer route. Make sure phone is well charged before going 2/4 phones died with one ending at 7%.

Really great trail conditions. Had the lake mostly to ourselves and the forest was beautiful on the way up.

Mostly on a biking trail. It’s around 18km if you start from the bottom of the crunch

First half of the trail is somewhat difficult and hard to follow but it gets easier halfway up. I had to check my phone to make sure I was going the right path several times. Some snow at the top but easy to walk over with runners. Overall a good hike. May 9 2020

Great well maintained. Came down via Sidewinder and then The Wall. Dismayed to have The Wall hits a dead end at beautiful Noons Creek Falls. The falls were spectacular but the was no bridge. No way to cross. Had to back track adding to the hike unexpectedly!

it was a cute hike for me and my friend we are twenty and new to hiking. lots of snow once you’re out of the biking trails after around 2.5 k, and many creeks you need to cross with varying difficulty. coming up and down the icy road was a bit unnerving had a few falls. the photos we got at the lake were gorgeous and we had peace and quiet as no one else was up there.

Under two hours to make it to the lake, without really stopping. It's pretty intense uphill most of the way, going through a lot of bike paths at the start. Offroading is done closer to the top, so you'll probably run into jeeps, four wheelers and such. There's still plenty of snow, but it's frequently traveled by off-road vehicles right now, so no worries about it getting too deep, unless you continue on further, since after the lake, no vehicles are allowed.
