Muddy in parts, but a very easy hike. The muddy forest part at the start is the hard part, then it gets significantly easier with the wooden boards all the way to the plane. I did the hike in slides and there were several children doing it. This is a must do hike. Seeing the plane crash was an incredible experience.

Muddy, fairly easy hike, make sure to park at radar hill and walk down the highway a bit. Cool looking final destination with the plane!

Easy to follow trail. Some roots but not that muddy. Historically interesting. Parks Canada told us it was closed and it was a disappointing trail with a crash site that was just a pile of garbage. Our group and others thought it was worth it. Not wheelchair accessible but not every trail can be

Although this was a great trail, we did have some set backs. You come by an abandoned house which is part of the trail, but after that, it gets really, really muddy. You have to be wearing high and durable hiking shoes, and expect to get mud and dirt on your lower legs. But after that, there is a bit more trail and then you come to the plane crash. It is so cool and fun to explore. Round trip, this was about a 2 hour hike. 4/5 would recommend if you are prepared.

Very muddy! So wear boots! But not much of an incline, and has a very straightforward path! Rain or shine, it’s a nice hike

Trail was officially “closed” due to heavy machinery working at the trailhead. We found our way in and enjoyed the hike. Easy hike & a cool spot to enjoy, the boardwalks are awesome we didn’t get muddy.

First time visiting the spot - i couldn’t imagine doing this walk before the new boardwalks were put down, they make it accessible without being knee deep in mud. Still muddy in spots but it’s easily doable. I would say this hike is (approx) 10 minutes along the highway from the parking lot, 10 minutes on a nice easy trail, 10 minutes after the creepy abandoned radio tower building is the worst part (mud and roots) and then the last 10 minutes to the plane is along the new boardwalks. Walking up close & around the plane was a bit of a challenge (more mud, more roots etc).

Great hike, it’s pretty muddy in sections but with all the new boardwalks it’s way better! Cool to contemplate what happened to the pilot haha

Fun hike but very muddy n slick. The new boardwalk really is nice. Seeing the old airplane is worth the hike.

Well worth the quick hike in (although the road access is a shame). An interesting, if slighty hazardous, wreckage to climb in, on and around. Would also make a fun little trail run if you are comfortable running around roots. Pretty dry in August with the new boardwalks transitioning you across most of the wet patches.

The crash site is truly a site to see when in Tofino! Be sure to head out early as on my way to the crash I experienced very little traffic but on my way back I passed 6 groups on their way to the site.
