BX Creek Trail is a 3.6 mile lightly trafficked out and back trail located near Vernon, British Columbia, Canada that features a waterfall and is rated as moderate. The trail offers a number of activity options.
Note: Hike is accessible however the falls viewing area is CLOSED. Please check with the city page for more information.
Still closed at the lower portion of the trail as they continue to replace two bridges. But you can still get a good out and back trek from the upper parking lot. The falls are always a cool and welcoming sight!
Beautiful walk and not too difficult. Bonus was seeing all the low riders on display.
Decent local Trail, couldn't do the whole trail as it's currently under maintenance, 2020 Aug 7
Bottom side of trail has some washed out sections you have to cross using logs. Very do-able as I hiked with a couple elderly folks for awhile. Very nice hike and easy for kids
If you start at Tillicum rd enter here you can hike for quite a bit on this trail. The other entrance on Star Rd only goes to the end of the chain link fence before the trail is closed and washed out at the moment. Sadly no dogs are allowed on this trail but have been allowed on leash in the past, so you may still see people bringing them on leash. The Falls are not far from the Tillicum rd entrance and good set of stairs down to get to them. There are two other steeper set of stairs on this trail as well. When this trail is up kept after flossing season it is a great little hike and cool through the trees on hot days. Such beauty in the Forrest area with the sounds of rushing water, streams, moss, rocks and tall trees with some blow down. Note: on either sides of the trail is private properties and you will see some signage for this.
The trail was washed out near the end of the turn around point. Refer to my recording as you’ll see by all the turn around a where the trail was washed out. Great trail other wise!
Only able to go about 1 km in comfortably. Creek has washed out portion and therefore to continue, would have to cross water on fallen trees, as some have evidently done.
A short and relatively easy hike, which offers plenty of shade, and if started at the downstream end of the trail, offers the reward of BX Falls at the upstream terminus (or one can elect at the upper end and enjoy the falls first). We first hiked this trail last August and enjoyed the full length of the trail. In early May however, Mother Nature and the spring runoff prevents would be trekkers from completing the entire out and back hike. That said, seeing the falls with the volume of water flowing through them at present is worth the short hike and 100ish steps down to the bottom of the falls. Take your camera and enjoy the spray mist from the violent flow of spring melt! Then plan to return mid summer and compare your experience!
