Perfect 10k hike where you can also run in many places. Changes in elevation and lots of different paths to explore when ready. Beautiful scenery. Rugged, hiking shoes recommended. Dog-friendly. Be Bear-aware.

Although you are close to the city, you will not hear cars. My boyfriend and I enjoyed a walk here in July. My Fitbit logged it as a 7.94 mile hike. There is some elevation change so bring water and a walking stick if you need to steady yourself. Will certainly go back!

I've done this Lake Loop trail multiple times. Always a great hike. Love that there are multiple options from the Lake loop to Lakeview trail and the longer Diez Vista trail. The lake is beautiful and trail is well travelled. Get there early on weekends or you will find yourself walking in from outside the gates adding a couple kilometres to you day.

Loved this hike. It took us just under 3 1/2 hours to complete. This included a short snack break at the north beach and a few photo stops. Some technical parts , crowded even on a Monday, but well worth it

Buntzen provincial park is one of my favorite places to hike. The scenery is specular.

An easy walk around the lake, even in the rain. Small elevations along the way, but mostly flat. Had a nice encounter with a banana slug that came out after the rain.

This is an easy trail. I mean, not extremely easy, but I've seen children doing much harder trails in the past.
It's a nice pace for a day with the family. The lake is beautiful.
The east side of the trail is a walk on the park.
The west side has some short "steep" sections, which shouldn't be a problem to most people.
I few this trail should be rated as easy instead of moderate. Most likely it's rated as moderate because of the west side, which is not even that bad imo.

As informed by Rio Loing, the east side of the trail is closed for maintenance. Utility road must be used.

Nice trail but the entire east side of the trail was closed for maintenance. Had to walk along the utility road the whole east side of the lake.

East side of trail is down due to crazy wind couple months back, they are working on fixing it so part of route is on the hydro road. Been on this hike hundreds of times and will always love it, safe comfortable place for me and kiddo to hike as I know the area. We will never let the rain stop us from exploring.

Part of the trail was closed due to construction but definitely worth the scenery it boasts.
