We made our way to Ammonite Falls via Jail Trail from the Benson Creek Fall Regional Park parking lot at Biggs/Weigles Road, over unmarked trails, log bridges and steep scrambles. It's a great little hike with a beautiful waterfall as its reward for the challenge in getting there. The hike is primarily over wilderness trails (read: unmaintained), slippery rock and dirt, steep descents into the ravine and scrambles with the aid of climbing rope are a significant part of this hike as well. Some trail finding was required as this is not the traditional access route but a loop was easily completed in about 2 hours with some chill time at the falls.
