Baynes Peak via Armand & Girlfriend Trail is a 3.6 mile moderately trafficked loop trail located near Capital F, British Columbia, Canada that features beautiful wild flowers and is rated as moderate. The trail is primarily used for hiking, walking, running, and bird watching and is best used from May until November. Dogs are also able to use this trail.
Weirdly hard to find the trailhead, ended up bushwhacking through thorns to find the trail. Easy to follow once on it. Moderately steep for the first half, then not as steep for the last. Ended up in a snow cloud with no views. Not too slippery, not too busy, and was a fun trail all around. Had a great time.
Well marked lovely trail. Not many people on the trail. Several view points of the Gulfislands and Vancouver Island make this hike more rewarding. We biked up to half of the mountain and started the hike from #1. Biking up the hill was more work and the hike was easy.
Fantastic. Underrated. Slippery on descent with Fir needles on hard pack trail. As good as it gets on South regional trails. Steep continuous climb with some breaks with great views.
Stunning example of Garry Oak ecosystem at lower elevations, and old growth Douglas-fir above. Highly recommended!
A very steep hike but totally worth the views. Saw Mt Baker off in the distance! Took this route for the extra difficulty and length and took our time. What an awesome way to spend a morning on Salt Spring!
Did this hike during Aug long weekend. Trail is pretty dry. We started at the parking lot of Burgoyne Bay Provincial Park and made it all the way up. The trail is in a good condition but I would recommend hiking poles on the way down as the path is a bit loose. The trail had 2 nice stops of the way up and provides amazing views. One of my most favorite trails in BC under 10K for sure.
