detour in effect due to logging, though no work being done so we took the marked trail on the way back.

Great hike and pretty intense. right now there is active logging in the area so there is a detour in place. The detour is well marked until the descent to the falls. There appears to be a few options to get down to the rope section of the falls, but the one I had taken was the straight down trail, which was a bit more difficult. New length with the detour is 5.5km and 230m of vertical.

The end of this hike is a scramble down to the falls. If you aren’t comfortable using ropes going down steep terrain then beware. I’ve attached photos for reference. My parents were not able to actually see the falls because the trail was too steep for them to maneuver. It’s unfortunate that no one has mentioned this before me, as there isn’t too much to see except trees and foliage for most of the hike. There is even a sign saying not to proceed down. All in all, the falls are very pretty if you can get down to them. Enjoy and be safe!

Bring gloves for the ropes down to the falls, great trek! Looks great for dogs to burn off energy too, just be aware of tree-falling work being done in the area.
