HikingGreat!

A pretty varied trial. The trail has some good incline, but also a nice creek crossing and a fantastic view at the end. There had been some recent dry spells, so mud was light and the creek crossing was pretty easy. You'll probably get asked about Evans Peak, as that trailhead connects and is easily over looked. It's pretty much right inbetween the lookout and the creek, so feel free to pass that info on.

Most of the reviews and pics here are for the Evans peak trail for some reason- which this isn’t. Pretty decent view of the lake here, room for one person to stand out on a rock but no spot for chilling or anything. Kinda sketchy river crossing that requires some scramble. Kept going down the trail past viewpoint and linked up with Menzies but wouldn’t recommend, pretty slippery right now.

This was a great, challenging hike! Lots of vertical to tackle making it hard both up and down. We didn't find the bugs to be horrible but we used spray liberally throughout the hike. Trail had some muddy sections but not too bad. Quick detour close to the start to check out the lookout. This hike was worth the effort!

Beautiful views and a difficult hike. It was very muddy and quite slippery but very fun! Proper waterproof hiking boots are heavily recommended.

Tough hike but definitely worth the grind. lots of bugs on the peak but manageable. will definitely try again in the future.

Nice trail, not much of a view but it was cloudy so I think that it would be better on a clear day, several sections of the trail were wet and a bit muddy but nothing was washed out. It’s a good idea to bring bug spray as the mosquitoes at the top were terrible

decent short hike. probably best done as part of a longer hike. viewpoint is nothing special (maybe it's better on a sunny day?) we made it a loop and continued past the viewpoint back down to menzies trail. very steep that way.
