Please note, it is NOT RECOMMENDED to do the upper section beyond Alder Flats as that area is very overgrown and there are no trail markers. Instead, it is best to come back down the same way you came up.

Beautiful day, getting near the flats, it was snow covered. Going beyond would require snowshoes or microspikes.
