Pretty easy trail - actually a small dirt roadway - good for novices hikers. Enough elevation to get your heart rate up but nothing serious. Nice views from the top but not spectacular as many angles blocked by trees. Very nice outhouse at the top (at fire lookout)- hahaha.

Nice hike, I would qualify it as “easy” instead of “moderate”. It’s a dirt road all the way up as the summit is a Fire Lookout. The start is above the campground and you’ll cross the road a couple of times before reaching the forest. A few patches of snow towards the top, very manageable without spikes. The best part is the view at the top, worth staying up there for a picnic, meditation or just relaxing.

A beautiful moderate day hike. The trail is wide for the entirety of the hike and resembles that of an ATV trail. There are still intermittent patches of snow and mud, but they are easily manageable. The lookout is clean and clear and worth going up to. Dog-friendly, but leashes required.

Really great hike. Small effort for big payoff at the lookout. Right now the trail is still mostly covered in snow, although cleats are not required. There’s a lot of melting happening so it’s also muddy and wet. We finished in 3.5 hours, including a breaks.

Great casual hike! Intermittent snowy patches. Look out was gorgeous. Moderate difficulty. Dog friendly as long as you have a leash 2m long or shorter :)

Hiked this trail May 18, 2020 and was still snow covered. The view from the fire tower is spectacular and worth the grind in the snow. Boulton Creek parking lot was closed so we parked south in the Boulton Creek Trail parking lot and walked up the hill to link up with the trail.

Hiked to the fire lookout, trail is still mostly covered in snow and some mud. We started in the rain and had a full blown blizzard at the top. I think it would have a been a great payoff with a great view if it wasn't for the clouds.
