Awesome Trail done 6 days ago right before winter hit full force. Trail was easy to find and follow, it was a steep climb for a short amount of distance but well worth it for the views at the top of Abraham Lake and David Thompson highway.

We did this on November 10, and it was amazing. The weather was absolutely gorgeous and there was very little snow. If there was more snow it would definitely not have been as enjoyable.

Did this in early October. Super tough hike, up mountain right away. Every blood, sweat, and tear was worth the views. Not a kid friendly hike! Make sure you have good hiking gear for this one, poles are nice for coming back down as the scramble is slippery.

Was beautiful! I’m not an experienced hiker (nor do I work out) but I managed to make it to the top have lunch and back down in 4hours. Pretty steep and loose rock. Friend went up in tennis shoes and he didn’t struggle.

Awesome hike! Stay a bit closer to the left side up the scramble and it’ll be easier on the trail. Stuck to the trail once 3/4 of the way up so it was a bit more of a scramble the whole way. Closer to the edge though so we had views almost the whole way up! Good marking up the mountain as it got steeper. Gorgeous 360 views at the top are worth it.

Great hike, definitely steep all the way up. It’s short, but it takes a lot of energy! Great views at the top though, totally worth it.

Definitely a hard hike/scramble. Trailhead starts to the right of the parking , past the creepy dumpster on stilts. . I’m a beginner hiker who’s fairly in shape , this hike had my knees trembling on the way down thanks to loose rock all of the way down except the first 1/8.. My hubby and 9 and 5 year old did it like it was no big deal. The views are spectacular but very scary for those afraid of heights, I may or may not have cried when I saw how high we were getting even before the scarves. Took the ridge side down and had to ladder crawl down 90% with my gf who’s an avid hiker. Definitely recommend hiking boots (I only had my runners) and wear sunscreen , you’re not in the trees for long. Bring more water than snacks and a piece of paper to leave a note in the geocache. We did 3 hrs to the top and 2 down with minimal breaks. Fitbit clocked it at approx 13,000 steps and 213 floors. Not saying I’d do it again but Well worth the view ! Happy Trails!

Amazing views the whole way up to the geocache, but it's definitely worth it to go the rest of the scramble to the summit. Trails were well used and visible with lots of other hikers.

It had some difficult elevation and scrambling but was beautiful along the way!

We had a lovely hike yesterday, but on the way down the path isn’t too clearly marked- as long as you stay closer to the ridge (on the left) the whole way down you will be fine. But all in all it was a beautiful hike with incredible payoff.

just finished this today, couldn't imagine dealing with the scree without hiking boots (a must!) and be careful with a windy day. had 25kmph winds on the ridge, almost turned back. incredible INCREDIBLE views worth all the hard work and sore legs.

The “Hard” rating is correct! This trail is steep all the way to the top and then all the way down! This is definitely not for a beginner. We were glad we had our poles.

When you get to the small plateau with all of the scarves tied to the trees, you are only about half way to the top. Keep going!!!

Pack some food and some beverages for your time at the top. Also, you might want your binoculars. The views are spectacular .... really spectacular.

Amazing hike! My quads are still killing me from the steep decline on the way down! Some seriously amazing views on a bluebird day. Slow and steady wins the race on this one.

Extremely difficult but worth it. I’d suggest proper hiking footwear for this trip, your toe nails will be screaming on the way down.

Great day hike, you’re mostly in the open with good views! It’s pretty much straight up the whole way. Loose rocks towards the top. Good footwear and hiking poles are a good idea. Great views from the top! A good hike to do if you want something quick, only takes a couple hours in and out. The trailhead is on the right side of the parking lot.

Did this trail today and it was incredible! Top 2/3rds was covered in 1-3 feet of snow but previous footprints make it doable. Worth every step of this straight up climb! Gorgeous views!

We did this trail in January. Microspikes were needed for sure. The views made the steep climb well worth it.

This trail earned its status as being HARD.
10/10 would recommend for the views though. Please be in shape & stretch out those hammies. May the odds be ever in your favour.

Awesome views! Lots of snow at the near the top. Didn't make the summit as the buckle was covered with snow which made it pretty risky with no ropes.

Straight up! Literally. Take water. Lots of it. Absolutely it 1/2 way up the wind gusts, so hold onto your cap.

Was a hard climb. Lots of loose scree in spots. Very vertical, so if you have a fear of heights probably not for you. Hiking poles saved me a few times. The views on this hike are amazing.... totally worth the hard work

Insane view at the top, but this is not for the faint of heart. Be in good shape, have poles and good footing. If you want, you can go about 1/4 way and still get a great pano of the lake.

May 6 2017. Beautiful weather. Very hard but worth it. Would not recommend this for beginners due to the scree which you encounter about 1/2 way as well as the steep angle of the hike. I have knees that like to go one way - up - very hard on the knees coming down but just take your time. Definitely use poles. The wind at the top was very strong and cold due to our late spring - still snow on top. Wow - can't believe I did it! 3 1/2 hours to go up and 2 down.

Beautiful hike. The climb was defiantly worth the view! A bit challenging as the incline was pretty steep with loose rocks making it a bit difficult. Overall awesome hike!

Was definitely more of a challenge once the weather changed; also made for zero views. Howeverthis hike was good and hard; can't wait to try it in the summer.

One of my favorite hikes in the area, be prepared for a steep difficult hike to the top. well worth the struggle. I've done it nine times and would do it another nine. Enjoy!
