It is steep all the way, but a super good trail to the ridge-top, just short of the upper ridge and summit we were aiming for. We had to turn back as the scramble section was too snowy and there were threatening cornices above it - obviously not a problem in the summer. Otherwise this trail is well worth the effort as it’s SO scenic! The wind was not bad here today, and we think that as this route is in the lee of the big mountain just to the west, the trail might possibly be less windy than other routes in the area? Don't know...

Well worth the effort going up this one!! It is basically straight up right from the parking lot but the reward is great!! Did this in August with my 10 year old daughter.

went 2 days ago. leg burner from the get go. Trails are easily marked(watch out for pink ribbons) except the middle part where it's a free for all. Just keep right. Got close to the top(like less than 15 m) but the snow was already knee deep in some places and I lost my left crampon(make sure it's secure) so it was really hard to go any further. If you're thinking of hiking around this time of year, bring crampons! also, poles help. a lot.

Lucky enough to do it with a few inches of snow so very easy to find the trail. Easy to get sidetracked but if you know where you want to go, it is very easy to pick the trail back up. View is terrific, one of the few hikes where the you have a view during the hike, not just at the end of the trail. Scramble was fairly straightforward. Ended up only hiking closer to 5kms as we scrambled over some obstacles instead of taking the trail around.

Did this hike on Oct 3. Very busy. Trailhead parking lot was overfull. Great hike and worth the view but wish we would’ve arrived early to beat the rush.

Didn’t fully summit. Forgot the ol knee brace and the scramble killed it so only did the false summit about 1km up . But was still beautiful ! Definitely one steep hike !

Incredibly difficult. Steep grind right from the bottom and loose rocks. Definitely need poles coming down. We had piles and hiking boots and fell a couple times each. Absolutely gorgeous views though!

Started at the ridge trail but veered off as we didn’t have enough time to do the ridge. View were phenomenal! Very high reward for not much effort to get these spectacular views. 10/10 would recommend! Poles a definite bonus to have and it’s a real grind but with decent shoes it’s really doable.

This is a steep grind to the top, but worth it. I recommend good hiking boots, dress in layers (it’s chilly and windy at the top), and poles for the trip down. The views are spectacular and it feels great to check this one off the list. Make sure you use #davidthompsoncountry in your photos.

The trail is an incline the whole way up and steep decline the whole way down. We wore boots and were lucky that we did find some sticks to use because we didn’t have hiking poles. Wouldn’t recommend wearing running shoes. We stopped for breaks on the way up to take pictures and eat some snacks. The views are amazing and worth the leg burner. The hike is do able as we are beginner hikers but we are in good shape. The trail isn’t really marked so on the way down we ended up taking the trees instead of following the rock.

Steady incline was a challenge even coming down. Poles came in handy! What a view!
