we headed out from Old Fort Point. I haven't been on the trail in 20 years. it's been eroded pretty bad. really rocky and rough. I was riding a 27.5+ hardtail. on the way back it started to rain heavily and the trails turned to creeks! what a crazy ride back. still a great trail!

Fairly unexciting for most of the route. Be sure to take the 9C path to see actual views of the river or you won't see it. As there's very minimal elevation gain you'll run into a lot of people.

Very nice trail! It was busy near the parking lots, then we were almost alone on the traik. Easy trail, some sections are steep but short. lots of stunning views.

good hike, definitely worth the views you get.

Nice Trail. Pretty easy. At a few spots, trees have fallen over the trail and could pose a challenge getting ove for children or short/ older hikers. The views of the lakes are nice and there are quite a few options to take a different route back. Would recommend. 5/7

This trail was easy but very pretty, definitely wish we’d done it in the summer instead of spring, as all of the lakes were frozen and we couldn’t see their beautiful colours. Would definitely come back again :)

Awesome conditions. Give yourself some time to take in all the awesome viewpoints and features. We walked by the river on the way in, and out by the viewpoint. 10/10 recommend this route, but be prepared to hit 20km. Noticed some bear scat in the first stretch, but no sightings. Busy near the lakes, and mosquitos near the boggy areas.

I did this one in winter, if there is fresh snow I would definitely recommend snowshoes (you can rent them for 24 hours in Jasper, only 16$), it was an amazing hike, and you can take different tracks of the same distance so that you only do 2km on the same track (track nr.9) . Get a map of the routes (available in the hostels, rentals, infocentre - for free) and start with the 9c - this one merges with the 9, then you can make a circle around the lakes following the 9a and get back on the 9, following it this time all the way back (instead of going back on the 9c). If you count the walk to get there and the extra metres because of the loop, you have almost a 25 km hike!

Fantastically beautiful undulated trail today. Went for a run, but the ankle deep snow was not well packed, so it made for a lot of effort. Great for snowshoeing or hiking.

Good hike and work out . Took 9c on the way back to old fort rd and saw black bear close to trail, it was much more muddy, steep and secluded than trail 1.

Nice trail, saw a black bear, a few snakes, woodpeckers, chipmunks etc. Trail pretty easy, couple of muddy spots but easy to navigate around. Lakes are stunning.

Top Wanderung mit Grizzly und Schwarzbär.

Best hike of my life. Did the 12 mile out and back and I’ve never seen anything as beautiful as these blue lakes.

Spectacular views. Start early and it’s like you have the most gorgeous lakes and mountain views all to yourself. Go out to the end of the very last lake for a beautiful, quiet lookout.

We started at Fort Trail and walked up the mountain due to the trail going around it being closed due to bear activity. Took us approx. 3hrs to get to The first lake, would recommend starting at the trail head on the opposite side of you want an easier shorter hike. Beautiful lakes when you reach them however!!
