Not a hard hike at all but a lovely day off out in nature! Considering both of us lived in Banff/LL for over ten years it was pretty funny realizing we had never been up to the little lakes! Beautiful and wasn't busy as we arrived very early.

Honestly; not the best hike. Doesn't give you the feeling of being secluded at all which is what I enjoy about hiking. Heavy traffic, very easy route which may be enjoyed by some. Good for families though.

Nice, easy trail. A few rocky steps but the lakes at the end are worth it

So so beautiful. I would definitely recommend the harder way up and the easier way down.

Short and easy hike, great for a 2-hour city getaway. When you reach the top views of Canmore and the valley are stunning.

Most beautiful hike I've ever been on

We found a lot of mixed information about bringing a stroller with our 2 year old. We had a Thule Chariot today on the easy route and it worked just fine on a dry trail. Would not recommend a regular stroller, especially ones with small wheels, but any jogging or sport stroller works just fine. The trail itself was just fun for both 2 and 4 year old made it the whole way up, but had a break on the stroller on the way down.

Great for families and beginners or in todays case a shorter, easier hike. The views, pools and waterfall are all pretty and even got to watch rock climbers a bit. Lots of people and dogs! Took the more difficult way in (more to see) and easy way out (mostly trees). I enjoyed this hike, with my dog.

Felt like this hike was a hidden gem when we got there, fewer cars and all, but SO MANY PEOPLE showed up later. Incredible views (take the hard way up). There are points where you're walking through small streams of water, so just be prepared to do that. Then the short loops that lead to the climbing trails were a nice little surprise. The water is so clear its unbelievable. Took the easy way back down. There were many many people coming up.

really busy on a Sunday. kid and family friendly. went up the "difficult" side. still more like a nature stroll than proper hike.

I did this hike just this past Feb (2019) and it was lovely!! I loved the lake at the end loop. It was very snowy but the trail was well used so we didn’t have a problem as we didn’t use snowshoes, or spikes or poles.

This trail is family and dog friendly. It does get very busy so start early.

This was absolutely amazing hike! We scrambled up the water fall and were able to get some amazing hiking photos!! Had such a blast and even though it was busy, we’re able to break off of the popular areas.

Great short hike with a beautiful view. If doing the hard route, make sure you have appropriate footwear to go through some mud and water.

Great hike very close to town. During our visit, there were warnings for a bear in the area, but we did not see anything. Get there early... parking lot fills up, and good chance of rain by noon. We went up the easy route and down the hard route. Did not go all the way to the upper reservoir... trail is somewhat blocked above the second Grassi Lake, but you can continue at your own risk. Just a lot of rockfall up there. If you do go up, there are 1000+ year old Hopi pictographs on the rocks. Coming down the hard way takes you right down beside the beautiful waterfall. Just be careful out there. See my recording for pictures!

We did this easy hike on our first day, which was overcast but the Grassi Lakes were so beautiful even in that weather. This is a place not to miss!

Short hike with rewarding views! Had a great time.

This is a great trail to hike. We took our 3 year old last week and she loved it. I carried her on my shoulders about half way up and down because of the elevation only. She had a blast and loved it up at the top. Highly recommend this trail

Beautiful little lake at the top that makes it all worth it!

Excellent hike to do with all ages as you have the choice of the easier or more challenging route up. We took the easier route up and the kids were engaged by the spots they could challenge themselves with just off the path and the lure of the waterfall. The lakes are so pretty and there are many spots to climb on the rocks. They enjoyed the more challenging route down as there is water flowing and spots to get a good look at the water cascading down the mountain.

This was not the prettiest hike in the area BUT we had trail and lakes all to ourself. The lakes are clear blue and was a welcome break from the throngs of people in Banff.

Nice, quick hike. Took about 25 min going the "difficult" route. Make sure you wear good shoes because you're walking through /over / along running water. The lakes were very pretty although they were doing construction on one of them so we couldn't walk around it.

Went up the “harder” trail, and a nice easy walk down the “easy” trail. Beautiful clear lake at the top, and you can watch the rock climbers!

Great hike, up the moderate side, pictures at waterfall, and back toward Canmore. Up to the clear lakes. Polite travelers of all ages, enjoying visits on convenient benches. Easy hike down on “logging” type road. Very nice!
