Easy hike that follows the Bow River north under the east side of Tunnel Mountain, from Surprise Corner to Hoodoos Viewpoint. Some elevation gain near the viewpoint, and the trail ends by the main Tunnel Mountain road which leads back towards downtown.

Nice views but the trail is right on the road practically. We did see an elk!

Definitely a gem off the beaten path. Have been to Banff before but never knew there were hoodoos. An easy but interesting walk from the campground with many stops and views.

Easy hike in light forest alongside the Bow River. Nice views of Rundle and the Hoodoos at the end of the trail. Nothing too difficult, nothing too spectacular.

This is a great trail if you want an easy hike (I’d call this more of a walk). If you want to veer off the main path for more of a challenge there’s several point where there are side paths you can connect onto. You can make this hike shorter or longer depending on where you park - any of the view points/parking lots off Tunnel Mountain should get you to the path. The hoodoos themselves are a bit underwhelming but worth seeing. The views of the Bow Valley from the trail are beautiful- I highly recommend taking your time and just enjoying the sights!

Easy trail, red chairs aplenty, parallels road.

Easy trail but the way the path is designed it traps water and makes it icy.

spectacular scenery and views ! We enjoyed the trails. The paths are well marked and easy to follow. Our dog came with us and had no trouble navigating the trail. Pretty easy hike overall. The sun shines well in the late afternoon on this trail, making it that much enjoyable in late fall!
