trail from Agnes Lake still has a lot of snow and disappears up the slope. tough climb right now, but q beautiful view of both Lake Louise and Lake Agnes, as well as the surrounding mountains.

Epic trail with views to die for. For many it would be strenuous, not moderate, at least in parts. But if you can manage it then it's worth it - it's really just the unrelenting incline not any particular hazards. You won't regret it. Phenomenal.

Amazing views all along the trail! From the top you can see the lake louise and the mirror lake. Beautiful! The hike will take you along mirror lake and agnes lake, and then a steep ascension to the top of the beehive. I highly recommend this hike!

An awesome hike. Got a little steeper closer to the summit but definitely worth the hike. Would do it again.

Review for going UP the trail!!!!
I did this hike AUGUST 1, 2018. We started the Hike @7:40 it was a chill morning and became warm. We hiked at a medium hike pace, with several short stops for pictures of the lakes and waterfalls. Our pace was 30:24 min/mile including our stoped times. Which took us 1hr51min (one way) Elevation gain 1962 feet. 3.4 miles (one way).
Fairly busy trail up to the end of Big Bee Hive, where there is a small patio with benches.
There is an bonus hike up at the top called “Devils Thumb” it shoots up a few hundred feet in a short distance... looks fun for the thrill seekers.

We came down the Big Beehive to the Highline Trail which put us in front of Mirror Lake again and the trail turns into Lake Agnes Trail. Coming down took 1hr 9 min at 3 miles and 22min/mile pace.

started before 9am sat morning (parked at great divide), still a lot of people to lake agnes but cleared out after that.. down via highlight was waaayyy better as less people and then over to 6 plains glacier tea house make it good 20km day... amazing view from top - with dealing with people to see it..

The grade of this trail made the hike just this side of strenuous for me, but the views from the top of Big Beehive made the effort up so completely worth it. Utterly gorgeous hike. Didn’t stop at the tea house due to the crowds, but the toilet facilities came in handy. Those with bad knees should prepare for a slow, careful descent, especially below Lake Agnes, which only has one or two switchbacks but is otherwise straight down the side of the mountain. The trailhead at Lake Louise was packed when we finished. We started around 8:30 am on a Monday. I wouldn’t start later than that. It took us about 5 hours, start to finish, but we also took a boatload of photos all the way up and at the top. Lake Louise in the morning is magical.

First half of the hike to Lake Agnes was heavily trafficked, although the view from the lake is incredible. The second half, toward the Big Beehive, is more strenuous than the first, but well worth it. Not as many people, and views of Lake Louis on one side, and Lake Agnes on the other. Incredible, incredible hike.

Lots of people, trail is very dry, the switchbacks were overall manageable until I reached a couple of very narrow points on the path.

Great Hike. And tremendous views. Highly recommend.

Once you get out of the crowds of lake Louise the ascend is breathtaking. After the tea house, the crowds begin to shrink and the hike/views can fully be enjoyed.

Too many people in July.

Lake Louise to little beehive to big beehive. Approx 3-4 hrs with photos and lunch at the tops. Dress in layers and bring rain jacket. Cools off at the top.

Very nice hike from Lake Agnes to the Big Beehive. Pretty steep but definitely worth it. I totally recommend the second tea house which is like 4 km away from the Big Beehive. Total hiking trip was about 15 km starting from Lake Louise going to Lake Agnes then Big Beehive and the Tea house and coming back.

Phenomenal views of lake louise from the top of big beehive. We left relatively early (around 8:00 am from the lake), but still ran into a good amount of people. The trail up to lake agnes is not very strenuous, but still a good workout. I recommend stopping by the tea house (bring cash) if you can get there early enough for a quick break before heading up to big beehive. The views as you walk around agnes are great (was very windy when we passed through) and after following some tighter switchbacks up to big beehive, you won't be disappointed. I carried our one year old and my wife is 6 months pregnant so we took our time - stopping for a while at the tea house, at the top of beehive and a few other spots along the trail - so up and back was over 5 hours.

Beautiful views up top, make sure to go early or late since it gets very crowded during most of the day!! Push it to Devil’s Thumb if you have time

This one is spectacular. Did it yesterday and conditions are perfect. Came from plain of 6 Glaciers, instead of Agnes, which makes it a hair longer of a hike but I think nicer.
Make sure you hike up higher to Devil's Thumb. It's worth it.

Startet at 6:30am this morning, still snow on some parts l, but all good- did the whole hike in runners. Awesome view, make sure you start early, so many people later on. We came from six plain of galcier walk and up to the big beehive and went down to lake agnes.. all in all in took us round 6 hours with stops and slow walking around the snow.
We were lucky to see a Grizzy with her 2 cubs on the way to lake louise from our car - definitely worth to get up early! :-)

Really rewarding hike. The views from the top are great, especially of Lake Louise and the surrounding range. There’s a gazebo to enjoy the views from. As of 6/8/18, there’s still a lot of snow on the Lake Agnes side which requires some scrambling and water/snow proof attire. It was a bit difficult going up, but it helps to just go slow. A Dad with a baby on his back and pregnant wife made it, so not too bad. There is a different trail you can take on the south side of the mountain, I believe it is the Six Glaciers trail, but with a turnoff to big beehive. We hiked up the snowy side but down the dry side, made for a good sense of accomplishment. We started at 9am, had tea and biscuits at Lake Agnes Tea House, walked around mirror lake, and enjoyed views from the top for a long while, we made it back to our car around 2pm. If there was no snow, it probably would have saved a half hour or so. Do this hike!

Great views of Lake Louise (without the crowds) at the top! I did this hike on Monday and there was still a lot of snow on the Lake Agnes side. It required some scrambling and trail finding. If you hike Plain of the Six Glaciers first, the trail to Big Beehive from there is much more clear and well defined.

Amazing walk with a stunning view of lake louise. Did it three days ago and there was still a lot of snow at the side of lake Agnes. The other side had a lot less snow. Plane of six glaciers walk had a lot less snow.

We love this as a great family hike. There are some nice breaks along the way with beautiful views (while you give yourself a rest).

05/28/2018: passed the tea house the path is still very snowy and ends up disappearing, strongly recommend waiting a few more weeks before climbing up to the summit. Little Beehive Trail is a nice alternative for a good view over Lake Louise.

May 18, 2018, after lake agnes tea house trail is covered under the snow. And lake louise, mirror lake and agnes lake are still covered in ice. Maybe it would be better to go there couple weeks later
