Really easy, and a decent walk through the forest. Other than the canyon, there’s not too much that’s unique. If you’re short on time, this hike is good to do quickly. Lots of bear activity around the area though, so be aware of trail restrictions (groups of 4+ and bear spray mandatory).

A great one to do with kids-ages 4 and up. We did this on a clear fall day. It was a lovely way to spend the day!

Easy hike that’s mostly flat. I’d say once you hit the bridge that’s mostly it. Better hikes to do in Banff.

This is a pretty easy, short and sweet trail to hike. We did this hike on our first day into Banff after driving around Lake Minnewaka. We didn’t get into the park until about 3:00 so it was a nice trail to end our day of travel with. There is a great view of the canyon from a bridge on the trail.

Very nice trail, good views of the lake at various points. One icy stretch but otherwise easy to traverse.

Winter hike that was nicely traversable. Not icy, just hard packed snow and a good trail to follow. Fairly flat the whole way and great views of a bluebird sky.

starts from lake minnewanka. from the parking lot to the trailhead is roughly 2km. easy to get to. The trail is fairly easy with not much elevation gain. huge drop on the one side down to the river. pretty cool. bring bear spray! came around the corner and ran into a massive grizzly sitting on the trail! bluff charged for a hundred feet or so. But the other times I've gone, the trail ends at a beauty spot where you go down to a bend in the river. super chill spot and quiet from people. but seriously watch for bears. fairly easy hike and to get to the end and back is roughly 3 hours. definitely recommend

Hike starts along the lake before heading into the woods and follow a stream. It is an out and back trail that is fairly level. There were people near the lake but no one on the trail through the woods at a 9:40 start. The trail ends at a dry stream bed that you can take down to the active stream. We hiked during Sept perhaps the second stream is active in the Spring. There was a bear restriction requiring groups of 4 and bear spray. We found another couple to hike with in order to comply. Our hike was September 12, 2017 9:40am-11:40am. There was a large parking lot that had room at 9:40.

Enjoyed this hike very much. Beautiful views from the bridge and lovely place for a rest by the river before turning back.
