The trail offers a number of activity options and is best used from June until October. Horses are also able to use this trail.

I hiked the 8 mile section of this trail leading up to Shadow Lake Lodge. It was totally wooded with not much in the way of views, so compared to other hikes in Banff, this one underwhelmed. The view from the lodge, however, was spectacular.
