I went hiking on Sunday and the trail was gorgeous. Up until the jont to the peak it’s quite easy. The views are amazing. My only warning is once you get to the lake and continue to the peak there is a lot of hog weed. Be careful this stuff is extremely dangerous if any part of the plant breaks and touches your skin. Safe hiking!

Easy to moderate trail. Beautiful Rawson lake. We hiked up the Sarrail Ridge and it was very difficult and steep! One part of it has rope, otherwise you need poles to hike all the way up! Look dangerous. Sandy dry soils on the scree, definitely need a good grip pair of shoes! Going down was so scary, sliding down most part of it! Saw people came down on the rock side!

Hiked up to Rawson today (Saturday Sept 19). Trail was good, moderately busy. Not too much mud near the lake which was nice. Lots of fishing going on. Trail was okay going up but more smokey once reached the lake. Got up in just over 45 mins and mostly jogged the way down in under 40.

Trail is in great shape. Steady up off of the Kananaskis Lake trail. In forest the entire way. Views are worth it. Maybe more like a 4.5 stars but a very nice morning hike. 1:15 to the end of the lake without pushing.

We did it on Sept 12. It wasn’t smokey from the wildfires in that day. The trail is well marked, very high traffic. There are interpretive signs along. Trail is in great shape not muddy.

Nice hike for families, beautiful lake, we went on Sunday and we saw a white grizzly in the distance, there was way too many people on the way down.I would recommend going early in the morning.

Excellent hike - moderate elevation large portion of the hike, and you get to see a beautiful waterfall, vista views of Upper Kananaskis Lake, beautiful forest before getting to Rawson Lake. Highly recommend walking to the end of Rawson Lake & walking up the small hill for picture-perfect view of Rawson Lake. We did this hike yesterday (Sept 12th) and it was busy - no signs of bear.

This is on the easier side of moderate. Mostly flat with some short steep segments. No poles needed. The views of Upper Kananaskis Lake at the beginning of the trail are just as beautiful as Rawson Lake at the end. We did this hike on a Saturday and it was verging on too busy. Lots of huge families who were quite loud, which took away from the serenity of the landscape at the end of the hike.

This is a beautiful trail. The hike up is very moderate not very strenuous but the lake at the top is amazing. There is so many different aspects of this trail from upper kananaskis lake, to a waterfall, to Rawson lake, I would definitely recommend! ignore my recording I forgot to press resume after a break...

Really great trail, easy to find and very moderate! A bit of incline but well worth the views. We were happy to get this trail in since it has been closed on and off all summer due to bears! We did this trail on Sept. 9.

One of my favourite hikes to date! No, it’s not the most quiet, most strenuous etc etc hike. The view at the end though is gorgeous!

Well marked. Nice mossy green forest trail. The ascent will get your heart pumping if you are going at a brisk pace. Fairly short distance to the lake compared to many hiking trails out there. Wear runners or boots. Nice in winter and summer. Was closed for bear activity for part of the summer. Lake and mountain backdrop in the sunlight is about the best view we’ve seen as far as mountain lakes go. Eagles screeching and all. Full tourist package for little effort. You can also continue around the left side of the lake (it’s longer than it looks) to Sarrail ridge (very steep and scrambly.) Just going around the back of the lake is very nice and looks rather like Swiss alps landscape. Caution for falling rocks on scree path (we saw a bit of a slide.) Look for pikas in the rocks. 11km total.
