Mostly all covered in shade, a pretty steep incline all the way up but doable with a few breaks. Amazing lake view up at the top, have done in both summer and winter

As always, a very reliable hike! Can’t get lost, easy steady incline.

FYI - This trail is currently closed due to a grizzly and her cubs in the area! Tried to go this morning, but it’s blocked off. We did the whole Upper Kananaskis loop instead which was nice!

As below, start early because it gets busy. But the effort to reward ratio is great. Will be doing this one again!

Great hike! Go earlier than 10 or else it gets busy!

Completed on June 19, 2019 in ~2.5 hours. Trail was slightly muddy and light rain/hail was present. Steady incline for the first half of the trail, but eventually levelled out for the second half. Great view of the lake at the end!

Snow free. In good condition. Little mud at the top but great.

Fairly steep on the way up, but the view is well worth it. Lots of mud near the top still as of yesterday afternoon. Tried to get around the mud and ended up in knee and ankle deep snow. Fairly busy but not crowed.

Such a great hike! Rawson lake is so worth the incline trek to get up to. Little muddy the closer we got to the lake but beautiful view once you’re there. Very good workout and my dog loved it!

I hiked June 15th. We started at 9 am and finished at 12:30 pm including photo stops and lunch. The trail was dry except near the top, muddy. There’s still snow surrounding the lake and mountains to make the scenery looked stunning. It got really busy on the way down as people were making the way up. All and all, it was a nice and easy short hike.

This was a beautiful hike. The parking lot itself has a beautiful view. Went today and it snowed at the top, rained half way down and beautiful and sunny at the bottom. The lake at the top is beautiful and a great view. It was quite muddy today but that’s because it’s been rainy.

It was a beautiful hike. I went on my birthday weekend. During the first few weeks of spring, you’ll want to bring some ice spikes or good quality trail runners. The waterfall on the way to the trail is beautiful, as is upper Kananaskis lake. 10/10 recommendation.

Short but mostly uphill. Snow and ice as you get closer to the finish, but an extremely lovely view at the top.

Steady incline, we saw young kids going up who managed fine. We were really lucky and saw trout and roe in a nursery area, at least 10-12 big fish just chilling in the calm water area just off of Rawson Lake. Very pretty would definitely go again.

The view at the top of this trail will absolutely take your breath away! The combination of Rawson Lake and Mt. Serrail is one of the most beautiful things I have ever seen in my life. It's a steep but easy path up to the top. The last third of the trail is still very muddy and snowy so that will slow you down. I highly recommend this hike if you don't have a lot of time but you still want a challenge. It's about a 3 km, 40 min hike to the lake from the upper parking lot. Make sure that once you get to the top, you follow the trail around to the left. It opens up to a big snow field where you can explore or just sit and enjoy the spectacular view.
