Skied this in February. Bit of a climb but worth the ski back to the car.

One heck of an approach but the boulderfield was a hoot. Lovely 360 views especially of some frontrange sharkfin peaks to the north and pyramid/pat lakes below. Not the best scramble in terms of beauty seen per calorie burned but absolutely worth doing once.

Awesome trail. I hiked this with my brother on August 2nd. We walked from the parking lot all the way. It is challenging without a bike but worth it once you reach the top. Route finding near the top was easy but there is no sign of any trail as you are scrambling over boulders on the final ridge. You only need confidence that you are on the correct ridge. We ascended the north and descended the south with a quick swim in the lake. We climbed this and Palisade Lookout with a total distance of 38 km and 2100 m vertical. It took us 9.5 hours. Beautiful the whole time.

An amazing day hike. Turn left at the sign for the pallisades and keep cycling until you reach the end of the old road, another 4.4km on. Allow for 12 hour round trip, although more experienced and fitter riders/hikers/scramblers may be able to complete in less (9 -10 hrs).

Completed this May 26. Highly recommend snowshoes. Could see tracks from others that attempted it without and they were sinking 3 feet into the snow in some places. Ascended the summit using the North face. Huge mistake. What boulders that were sticking out of the snow past the false summit were glazed with ice and the snow along the ridge had formed into cornices. Made it though. Descended using the South face. Much steeper but much easier since the boulders were thawed. Hind sight should have used the South face to ascend as well.

Best views in Jasper. 360 of all the mountains ranges around Jasper, all the way to Robson. Snow adds tine and difficulty. The scramble is large boulders all the way to the summit. With fresh snow not packed between you can easily slip between. Go slow it's worth

Great hike but better with bikes than walking. the last 10 km back walking get too much.

This hike was incredible. We took the fire road to the meadows and camped there overnight. We set for the scramble/bouldering at sunrise. The bouldering is quite long but so fun! BRING BUG SPRAY. At least a full bottle per person. From the beginning of the fire road until the base of the bouldering, the mosquitos are AWFUL. We didn’t bring bikes, but I strongly advise you do. Walking that long fire road after a rough descent is very tedious. The view at the top is absolutely spectacular and overall a very rewarding hike!

Did this trail without a bike due to sprained wrist. Take a bike. it will save you energy and time for the scramble. should have done my research about how to get up the summit first (like with this app!) because we spent a lot of time wondering how the best way up was! Really awesome hike, will do it again as soon as I can ride!

Challenging but amazing hike! Trail is a bit difficult to follow once you get off the bike. Be prepared to scramble/boulder to get to the summit. Lots of fun!

Did this two years ago. You get a long uphill bike workout to get to the mountain hike trail, great scrambling to the false peak and then to the true peak (a sketchy climb depending on the season), and then a great (fast!) descent in the way down the fire road.

The first part on bike in the old fire road is very painful. At the end of this trail, you need to scramble all the way up. Nothing too technically difficult. You will be tired the next day but it's still worth it.
