An alternate decent of Prairie Mountain via its NW Ridge eventually joining up with Prairie Creek trail. Turns Prairie Mountain into a loop instead of an out and back.

Great day and a lot of people out for Mothers Day. Trail was completely dry and the views were spectacular in all directions. A great little challenging hike close in to Calgary/Bragg Creek area.

Lots of snow but the trail is packed down. It took me about 3.25 hours with a bunch of up hill at the link.

Great winter conditions for micro-spikes with packed trail around the whole loop. Excellent views from the top in all directions.

A great alternative to the out and back for Prairie Mountain. Going down the backside allows for a more gentle descent.

Things have gone downhill up top recently though, the nice couple that ran the bodega have retired and it's now a Tim Hortons. I realize it's remote, but $15 for a danish is not reasonable. Pack your own lunch.
