Once at the top, you will look out onto spectacular views of Bow Lake and the glacier to the west, Peyto Lake, and the Canadian Rockies. It is best to get there early in the morning if you are planning to visit in the summer

It was very beautiful. A shuttle had just dropped off a bunch of people to the viewpoint so that was packed. Definitely follow the map on here and keep going for a much better view and some solitude!!

Another good break from the car with amazing views. We ventured off to the less travelled path at the end of the parking lot and spotted an elk.

Super busy trail walking single file for most of it. Great views at the summit but for me, hardly worth it wit so many people. Giving 4 because I would love to do it without the crowds.

A beautiful hike , lake is gorgeous. Definitely take the trail past the overlook area and climb the rock mountain trail for incredible views.

Only lake to put up an argument with Moraine in my opinion. Yet, I wish there was a hike down and around the lake.

Not really a hike but the viewpoint for the most amazing lake

We extended the ride by taking the descent to the lake. Extend more than 2km hiking. The perspective being in contact with the lake, and with the sight on its source (fall) was very interesting. The descent to the lake is not busy.

Panoramic view point is amazing! Almost no people, great view to lake and gracier. Many people stop at viewing plant form , it’s overcrowded, just keep going, maybe 15 min up and you will awarded with breath catching view

Beautiful!!! You must really go completely up to the last viewpoint on the rocks, almost nobody there and the very best view of the lake! Parking was busy, but just find a spot on the road just before the parking.

The trail is nothing spectacular and wouldn’t really all this a hike but this is an absolute must to see. The lake is stunning! We were fairly early so crowds weren’t too bad. We hiked a short ways up from the observation point and found a beautiful area that we had to ourselves. We were able to get plenty of pictures and sit on the rocks to enjoy the peace and beauty of this beautiful place.

Beautiful blue view from high above. Very easy no strenuous hike. 5/5 views await atop.

As a hiking route it is worth nothing, but the views of the viewpoint are beautiful and make it worth stopping. Try to avoid the hours of collapse.

Gorgeous lake matched by a gorgeous drive. Slight negative on account of being an absolute zoo at 2pm on Friday. There was no passing the crowds on the short walk up. Ditto the platform.

This short walk is paved and leads to a beautiful view of the lake, however there are so many crowds at the lookout. Buses drive straight up and it makes the lookout incredibly crowded. We hiked up about a half mile past the lookout and I cannot recommend this enough. After only an additional ten minutes of walking we had a stunning rocky lookout point overlooking the lake and mountains. The path forks off several times but keep taking it up and up, after about ten minutes you’ll reach a much more desirable viewing location. We stayed and had a picnic lunch there and only saw maybe a dozen other people over an hour. Much more secluded and you have a beautiful view of glacial waterfalls in the distance feeding into the lake.

Super easy and short — a bit steep but very doable

VERY crowded. Go to the upper lookout if you can. View is great but you may have to wait in line to snap a picture and hope a tour bus does not empty out.

This was one of our favorite spots of the whole trip, but continuing past the giant crowd of people onto a side trail and walking further down made all the difference. When at the main spot looking out onto the lake, then left and head down the trail that you see. It’s a little steep, but about a five minute walk from a completely different experience. We were there midday with all the crowds and had the entire area to ourselves for 15-20 minutes. It was incredible!

Lake looked beautiful, but didn’t stay long because of all the people. If I’d go back, I’d go off the paved trails more and get to the lake if possible. Big parking lot that was full at about 1:30 in the afternoon but you can park along the road to the lot if need be.

Peyto Lake is one of the most beautiful lakes I have ever seen. The hike/walk is short (doable in <10 minutes from the parking lot) and easy. Sadly, because of that, it's also extremely overcrowded, which made it difficult to enjoy the views.

The view of the lake from this spot is beautiful. The lake’s blue color is very different from other lakes making it a must do. The view point is only 10 minutes away from the parking spot. It is a steep climb but you’ll get to the top before you know it. The trail is nicely paved so it’s a very simple hike.

Thanks to whatever reviewer told me to continue along the loop for another quarter mile and escape the huge group of people, made all the difference and found a better overlook of the lake!

Easy trail with lots of people. As the other reviews say, keep climbing to the further viewpoints, they are better and much fewer people.

Amazing views! The walk to the viewpoint was uphill but the blue color of the lake was spectacular. We dis the two loops after the viewpoint and while there was information along the trail, the rest of the loop ia just a nice forest hike.
