I would say this is a very difficult trail. I walked it may 11 2019. Beautiful weather, lots of shade and no bugs but be prepared for snow, wash out and loose footing. It is all incline going in and coming out is steep to walk down. I walk with my blue tick hound and a friend. We only made it about 3/4 of the way to the top. My dog never growls at deer or small critters but we turned around as something at the top in the trees was making her very upset and aggressive. We were unable to see the animal but I would definitely bring a can of bear spray and something for self defence if I do this trail again.
