Completed this hike yesterday, and from car door back to car door it took about 3.5 hours, and that was with plenty of breaks. I don't think I'd consider this hike hard, if I'm being honest, but moderate for sure. Lot's of switchbacks make this hike reasonable, and the path was clear and well marked. Great hike with a beautiful view at the top!

Great hike to do, quite steep and challenging near the top involves a bit of a short climb/scramble to actually get onto the ridge. When approaching the summit stay right and try to pick a path close to the bottom of the cliff face so that you don't miss the climb/scramble part as there seems to be a few routes on the east side of the mountain to choose from.

My roomate and I went up this morning around 9am and hit the trail by 9:30. I enjoyed seeing other hikers, I would say it is definitely on the busy side but everyone we came across was so lovely. I brought my dog, a border collie, this trail was great but there is a bit of scramble and a climb to the actual ridge, so I recommend against bringing an animal unless you have a partner and you can switch off watching the dog!(Unless your dog is comfortable climbing etc) Overall, it was a beautiful day, we took many breaks throughout. Took us about 4 hour with breaks. No snow at the top, not to windy (as we hit it early) and clear skies for us today! Enjoy!

I left the parking lot at 6am planning to hike the entire ridge. Thank goodness I left at that time as the trail gets very busy as the day progresses and more importantly the wind acts in a similar way. If you plan on doing the entire ridge you must start early to avoid the wind that tends to set in at around noon. I spent about 5 hours on the ridge in total and my only advice to to hike as close to the point of the ridge as possible or on a clearly worn trail just below. It is very easy to go down a trail thinking it’s easier only to have to scramble/hike back up the lose rock, off trail. As for the trail up to the ridge, the same goes. There are several very worn trails that go across the slope below, which may seem easier at first, but then you have to scramble nearly straight up on slippery/lose rock. Take the trail closest to the point of the ridge, it makes life easier.

This hike is beautiful! It’s fairly easy for the most part. Closer to the top we cut off the trail and did a bit of rock climbing to get to the top! My favorite part of this hike is def rock climbing at the top to do the ridge walk and being able to see downtown Calgary from the peak! Ridge walk not for the faint of heart for sure. Took us 6 hours incl breaks.

Great hike but not easy to find on many ways. All I can say is when you get to the crux is to stay as far left into the wind as you can. Look up and all you see is rock face but that’s the trail and it’s easier then the middle trail.

This trail is currently beyond overused. Summited the full ridge at 9am, at least 60 hikers going up on our descent. Too busy with people who’d typically be at the malls, litter on the trail and lack of ethics.

Man it was busy on the ridge today! The actual trail head is about 2k from the equestrian parking lot. You gotta go through the overnight campground. Trail up is pretty easy to follow along. Once you get above the tree line it's kinda a choose your own adventure. There are multiple ways. Going right is out of the wind but much steeper. We went right and there is a little scrambling. The top is some scrambling. We didn't quite hit summit. Got just below and had to tap out. Throughly enjoyed it. Amazing views and definitely a good workout. Was about 12k and 700m of elevation gain in 3 hours moving time

Get there early to beat the crowds. trail is in great condition.

A ridiculous amount of people on the trail so definitely happy we started early. Trail was in great condition and weather was perfect. On the easy side when it comes to “hard” trails. At the top there is a 10m scramble portion which is fun but definitely a little on the scary side if you aren’t careful with your footing and confident in climbing rock, so lots of people turned around at that point.

On the way down, it’s really easy to lose the track. At one point on the ridge you’re supposed to turn north east to head down the eastern slope. However, I kept going south and eventually had to do a few down climbs to get to the tree line. Once below the treeline it’s bushwhacking and climbing over deadfall until you connect with the little elbow trail. This will take you back to the trailhead. Anyways, very easy to make this mistake so just watch the map on the way down. Not a big deal though if you miss the trail like I did. Just head toward the river and hang a left — not ideal, but you’ll be fine.

Did the trail today. Did not enjoy the 2km from the parking lot to the real trailhead. Dog made it all the way to the very top but had to leave her with a friend to walk the last several hundred meters along the ridge summit. Good views from the top. All in all just a so so hike. 800 meters, 13 km.

Great hike. We went right at scramble point so ensure you stay left once near approximately 4.8 KM point on your way up. Lovely day and enjoyed hike.

Great trail and hike up to the summit, where you can run the crests with stunning views. A bit confusing to find the trailhead: Make sure you cross past the gate on your way from the parking lot, and make a right to start the Nihahi Trail. It will immediately get steep, but you get awesome view to the valleys every few meters. Pretty doable until you get to the scrambling part, where it gets a bit more tricky, try not to lose the marked path. Some areas may require a bit of climbing, nothing too crazy. Totally worth the effort to summit up to the very top. Total in &out took us 4 hours Great experience

18/06/2020 First time on this ridge, realitvly easy going and nothing extreme besides the short 'crux' portion (take it slow if wet). No snow on the trail itself, some spots located in the scree section past the treeline. Traversed to the 4th summit and stayed for a few hours up in heaven. Beautiful clearing half way up a perfect spot for a picnic. Cloudy with slight rain towards the afternoon, decided to split before rocks got too slippery on the ridge. Misty, tranquil overcast , an overall somber tone (which I do love). Encountered 2 deer and a marmot on the trail nearing sunset (was the last party on the summit).

Great trail, beautiful views, brought the dogs and had to trade off going to the summit since there’s a pretty steep rock face that they couldn’t climb up close to the top. Went on a Saturday and it was pretty busy.

Great hike! There are two trails by the top though, and if you avoid the wind you end up on the wrong side of the mountain and the climb to the top is really rough. Stay in the wind and the climb is not bad at all, and the top is beautiful! Well worth it. A little bit of snow up there still, but barely.

Did the Summit and went along the ridge for a bit (3rd or 4th peak) and then scrambled down to Nihahi Creek. Made it to the canyons which were sweet and highlight. Windy up there today!!
