Such a gem! The views from the top are amazing and totally worth the work it takes to get to the top, especially on a beautiful day, when you get a proper 360 degrees view. Since most of the trail after you step off the Little Beehive trail is open you already can take in the views while making it up the switchbacks :) The trail to the top itself isn't very busy either from that point on, so quite possibly you'll have the whole mountain to yourself.

If you don't like crowds start early. The first section to Lake Agnes is highly congested, but once you're past the Little Beehive turn off there's barely anyone. Definitely worth it with the views from the top! I wouldn't say its hard in steepness, just some boulder climbing near the top. As long as you keep going up you'll keep finding the path here and there. If you like loops continue along the peak and descend the back side of the mountain. It's a bit steeper of a route down, but take it slow and you'll be fine (poles would be a bonus). Head left at the pass and keep along the valley and you'll eventually see the lake come into view.

Amazing hike !!!

What a great hike. 360 degree views at the top. You can see at least 8 glaciers and just as many mountain tops. Not that technical or hard, just a grind to get up there, but so so worthwhile.

Did this hike with my wife (53) and son (19). 360 degree views. Trail is easy to follow. Very rewarding for us. We were the only ones on the trail. I would say this is a moderate hike if you are in good shape, hard but doable otherwise just take your time. Not technical. Say hi to our buddy Bow (picture) if you are up there.

Completed 6/1818- maybe the best views in Banff. Last half mile got a little dicey with the snow covering sections of the narrow trail, but all-in-all nothing too technical.

For those of you wondering what the conditions are in the lake Louis area right now, we had absolutely no problems with this trail until we reach the last half mile. From there on we couldn’t figure out how to get around the snow. If you have shoe spikes or love a good rock scramble then it’s still 100% doable as we could see the cairn on the top of the mountain and were so frustrated we couldn’t get to it. Spent a good two hours trying though. Giving this trail a 5 because except for the snow it was a very gentle incline for the most part and a very enjoyable 4 miles up with great scenery. Highly recommend stopping by the Agnes lake tea house on your way.

Good hike, travel is straightforward with no technicalities, just some loose-ish talus near the top. There were big snow patches that covered most of the sides of the switchbacks, so I ended up going straight up for a fair bit. Theres also an a considerable amount of old avalanche debris covering the trail close to the turnoff from the little beehive, which may take longer to melt out than the snow higher up.

Beautiful hike. Still some snow pack once you head up off the little beehiive trail. Clears a bit for a while but then once you hit the switchbacks some of them were still covered in some knee deep snow. Had to turn back around 7900' because we didn't want to veer off the trail. If you headed straight up the gut we could have reached the summit. Few more weeks and everything should be melted.

It's a great hike but not the best around. Try to include all little extra, like little behive. We did The little and big beehive, Lake agnes, highline trail and came back via plain of six glaciers. Big day, filled with amazing views.

If you have to choose between St Piran or fairview, go for fairview. But if you are able to do all I said in a day, then go for the big tour.

Really great trail all the way to the top. Amazing 360 views from the peak - definitely one of the best I've experienced! Plus you can stop off at the tea house half way for a break

Great day! We took the backside down through Goat Pass and into the back of Lake Agnes on the way back. To do that, continue over the summit and along the ridge to the saddle, then it's a bunch of scree on the way down. The trail goes away, so you have to pick your path, but it's pretty obvious which way to go. A bit of a pain, but the views on this side are definitely worthwhile. Watch out for wildlife in the bushes.

Great hike! Pretty challenging but totally worth it! Lots of nice things to see along the way and an amazing view at the top! We had the summit all to ourselves so it was a really neat experience!
