Yes this apparently has great views, but it is a decommissioned hike for a reason. There is a warning sign about the grizzly habitat right at the start. Not only is this dangerous for people, but also for the already threatened grizzly population. There are transit barriers in this area and this corridor is key for the grizzly population to move and reproduce in a varied gene pool (which is necessary to sustain a healthy population). The meadow is a huge food source for bears and is prime denning area. When you hike this trail, you are displacing the bears and effectively fence them into smaller populations and force them to den in less ideal areas, lowering reproductive success. If you truly want to continue enjoying the beautiful mountain hikes, please respect all the life that lives there by skipping this one.
