The trail head starts right by crossing the river. In fact you see all the red ribbons from the side near parking; but my group was not Ok crossing the river since the flow was strong. Thus we passed the waterfall and about 1.5 km farther there is a bridge that if you pass it has a way to Mt Hoffman trail. The sign to Hoffman was just a pile of stones other hikers told us. There is not any official sign. We missed the pile of stones and we continued a-lot. By the time we figured that we are lost, we missed a lot of time that we had to go back :(

Did this trail today. The trail head is from the Indian Oil parking lot, and crossed the bridge above the Sheep river, then walked for 20 minutes, you arrived at a sharp right turn which is not easy for you to notice. If you miss the turn, you will see a creek with a lot of logs in it, then turn back and you will find the path to Hoffman Mount. Bring poles with you for some steep part. The views on top are wonderful. This trail is covid friendly. Not a lot of mosquitoes!

Relatively easy hike, only a few steep sections not overly difficult, but gets the heart pumping. Decent views, trail is in the trees nearly 80% of the way good choice for a hot day.

Bathrooms at base. Good shady hike for hot or sunny days. One steep section which may be nice to have poles. In forest most of bike then peaks out for good views. Good moderate hike for families 2.5 hours round trip for 3 average age average fitness hikers. 1.5 up 1 down.

We did this one yesterday; It’s a great hike with one steep section near the end. If you’re carrying a baby - bring poles! Mine were safely stowed in our vehicle but thankfully we made a friend on the hike who lent me his. Thanks Mike!!

Pretty easy aside from one super steep section - pretty quick to get up. Very beautiful up top and lots of space to spread out and picnic. For everyone that was here today - thank you for leaving my car as is even though I left my sun roof open!!

Good trail and a good workout. We did it in less than 3h with our 8yo twins. Gorgeous view at the top, worth the climb. Last km is really steep, that section is harder going down. Strongly recommend walking poles. Would recommend to arrive early, parking fills up quickly.

Amazing views. The steep part at the end is no more than half a km. I counted a quarter of a km. Steep and dusty at the steep bit, but doable. We had babies on our back and found the trail perfect Everywhere else. Trail is in the trees so perfect for baby carrying.

The end of this trail was absolutely gorgeous. That being said, there wasn’t much for views until the very end. Additionally, there is a pretty steep chunk that goes on for quite a while (not rocky but pretty exhausting to get up). Definitely still worth it. It’s also doable without hiking boots, but they made it a lot easier. There’s a nice plateau at the very top that makes a great spot for lunch.

This hike has to be one of the best value for view with respect to effort. The hike is not long although it has a steep section which would be awkward in wet conditions and it helps to have poles going down. The trail is easy to follow and the views from the top are outstanding. Family friendly with the option to just go to the lower hump if you have really small kids.

Great trail, lots of wildflowers and alpine plants. Good shade, a bit of a steep climb in areas-poles are useful on the descent. Dogs loved it. Stunning views from the top! Not too buggy!

Medium difficulty hike with only a short steep (very steep) section. Pretty views from the peak. The walk along the first wide path is a bit long/boring.

Very nice. Very challenging but great reward at the top. On the hard side for sure, but not a long hike. Very steep end bit. Windy and beautiful views. Trails were marked if you're paying attention. Wandered down some side trails and played in the water at the bottom before going home.

Great trail , we missed entrance of trail from main path, but somehow we figured it out . The entrance of trail is right side approximately 1.5 km walk from Sheep river falls / bridge . There are two water streams across the road before entrance please remember it . Otherwise you will go in wrong direction. Also it’s very steep in some portion it’s not official trail of Alberta Park so it’s not maintained. Also there is no signage on the road so be careful. Very few hikers today so it’s vary scary.

We hiked this on July 18. Started around 10 am and was perfect. There were some people on the trail but not a lot. We took our time at the top and even when there were coming more people up it never got extremely busy. Loved it! Gorgeous views at the top. For the turn off the main trail to go up - there is a pile of rocks on the right side of the trail that is easy to miss. If you get to the creek just turn around and go back. It's quite close and easier to see backtracking. Then when you come to the Y in the trail just stay to the left! Steep section at the top was trickier coming down than up. I think poles would come in handy there. We saw a few people sit down and slide that way down the steeper sections. We were okay with just running shoes that had good grip but took it easy on the way down.

Great trail! Started around 10am but there's no enough signs for the hikers, me and my friends were lost. We went to the very end of the other trail going to Green Mountain. We went back and figure out, that the trail going to Mount Hoffman is not really noticeable that's why we missed it. Overall we enjoyed the view and quick hike. :)

Enjoyed this hike very much. Just the right combination of great trail conditions, length, and views. Trail is almost dry, just one section to get the boot a little muddy. Got started early, about 9:30. Parking lot busy but still lots of parking. I would recommend this hike for families or beginner hikers as have others.
