Amazing trail, such stunning views for anybody; photographer or not. The lake below is pristine aqua and so beautiful. Once you climb above the trees you hit a small ridge to climb all the way up, then pretty easy from there with some boulders to get over but nothing technical if you decide to hit the summit and do an out and back. If you decide to continue along to Easy Baldy you do have a technical down climb with about 4-6 feet across of complete exposure. Be sure of your footing and hand holds, have someone help talk you through if needed. Down climb isn't recommended alone for anyone. Once you get past that, smooth sailing and you can run down a scree gully.

It was difficult and we had a random fellow help us with climbing a cliff to the second ridge. Not for new hikers.

I would definitely recommend cutting right around the first scrambling part you encounter (if you took the left trail to start) if you aren't comfortable with very exposed scrambling. The alternate route is tagged.

Way too windy at the top so we didn’t make it all the way. Created our own steep path on the way down. Overall, still a good hike.

Really fun, challenging hike. It took us much longer than AllTrails says though and we didn’t do the west peak. Fun scramble going up and a fun scree run going down. Poles definitely helped going down.

Managed to hit all three peaks, round trip was 6hrs with plenty of breaks. We found the scramble up to the West peak to be challenging, and the downclimb from the North peak to the South peak a bit easier. Aside from those sections, it was straightforward. Multiple layers were useful (T-shirt weather to jacket depending on wind/exposure). Super enjoyable day overall, awesome views across the entire traverse! Trail was dry, no snow issues on any of the peaks.

Beautiful 360 views at the top of mount baldy! It took just under 2 hours to the top of the summit and about 1 down, the same route. Starts out with a steep incline through the trees, once you are above the tree line it’s a scramble to the summit. I turned around at the summit as I wasn’t prepared for the technical climb required for the loop. Total 3.5 hours with a lunch stop.

If you are looking for a good cardio, this is the trail for you. From the base to peak a guaranteed workout! I only managed to summit both North and South. There are some areas that are bit exposed but it is manageable, just take your time. Scrambling and downclimbing is also in the menu. Helmet is nice to have, but gloves are essential so as the poles. The trail itself is straight forward. The scree is mixed with bigger rocks so its a bit challenging to run on it.

Good hike, starts off steep and then a little bit of scrabbling. Not very dog friendly and really windy at the top.

Awesome hike today to the first peak with sun and not too many hikers! No snow or mud but very windy at the top, make sure to bring layers! Did this hike with an injury and was able to make it to the top with careful footing. Poles are helpful for scree on the way down.

It is not a hard trail but a moderate one. With a six years old we completed the summit and came back to the trail head in less than 5 hours. From the first fork road on the trail head take the left for an easier path and take right if you like more adventure.

Very nice scramble. Windy at the top and we chickened out at the down climb crux.

Thanks to those who recommended to go left. I went off trail and it got harder because it rained and it made just difficult to see the trail. I don’t think that it is dog friendly. Saw guy carrying his dog.

Very fun scramble. Make sure to start on the left side. Would recommend it for intermediate hikers and up. Some technical parts if you’re going past the “bald” peak.

Did the north peak to the west peak. Awesome scrambling, easy to moderate until the downclimb which was difficult but short. Lots of fun for intermediate scramblers!
