Beautiful trail, lots of spots to get a great pic. Also a nice trailhead to many other hikes.

breathtaking views

Easy and well maintained trail and one of my favorite moments in Banff, go early and go to the end. The views are absolutely incredible. My partner and I had a snack on a rock at the ends of the trail and there weren't many people that far in (and it's not even far). I wish we had planned extra time in our schedule to rent the canoes. Great trail for those with kids or who don't want any elevation. Sneakers are fine.

Very easy with absolutely gorgeous views at every turn. Hardly any traffic on the trail yesterday, so we were able to enjoy a very serene, quiet hike. Definitely a must do!

Great little trail, very flat and easy to go out and back. Much quieter on the shoreline trail than near the lodge and rock pile. Lake was fully melted but trail had a few wet spots.

Update, May 23th: Road to Moraine lake just re-open. The lake is still a little bit frozen. Lot of people but it's worth it !

Was there last Sunday. The lake is almost completely melted. Started about 6:30 am. Not many tourists and plenty of parking available. Went to the rock pile after for pictures (sun was up by this time) and it was just starting to get busy.

19th may : road to Moraine Lake closed. Departure of the trail since Louise lake.

Some of the greatest views I have ever seen.

Good walk, this is not a hike, so good for those that need paved pathways. Beautiful lake but very, very busy.

Easy walk that provides great photo opportunities. Went early evening and most of the crowds had left which was nice.

Beautiful but I wouldn't consider it moderate in difficulty. Definitely and easy walk.

Make sure to arrive early, to get parking, but also to enjoy some quiet. We arrived on a weekday at 7:10am, and had one of the last parking spots. However, this did allow us to enjoy the lake in its quieter moments.

Easy trail that most of the crowds don't follow, made for an enjoyable hike.

An easy and scenic walk along the lake shore of Moraine Lake, one of the most photographed spots in the world!

More of a walk than a hike, but this is arguably the prettiest lake I've ever seen.

Great, easy hike to the other side of the lake and back. The view from the back side of the lake is worth the peaceful hike. Go before 9am to beat the crowds. Once there is too much traffic the park will shut down access to get to the lake.

The Valley of Ten Peaks is the most scenic hike I've accomplished to date. Ice covered mountain peaks and a glacier to boot. Did not have GPS when I went, but the trail is well marked. Most awesome views in Canada. Stayed in Canmore by Banff.

The view is beautiful and this short walk around the edge of the lake was magical in pouring October rain. This is an easy walk although the unpaved trail cuts through the trees so you need to watch your step.

One of the two most beautiful lakes I've ever seen, with the other being Emerald Lake in Yoho National Park. Get here early because parking can become virtually impossible if you don't. If you're in Banff National Park, I think this is the #1 destination to see for yourself. it's absolutely stunning! Also, hiking up the glacial creek that feeds Moraine Lake is beautiful, although a pretty rugged hike getting through the thick pines and brush, but it is well worth it! It leads up to the base of the peaks, and there are beautiful meadows with colorful wildflowers all over. It also has some marshland, which is perfect habitat to find moose.

The most beautiful place in North America; a lifetime memory when my children were still "kids."
