Still track set. A little sticky in parts. After avalanche sign, although you were going downhill you still had to work hard. Great to still have some trails late in the season.

Nicely tracked. Beautiful day. The elevation gain claimed by AllTrails is incorrect. It’s more like 350 m with no significant losses amongst the minor gains. The groomed trail does not go all the way to the lake. It ends shortly after a sign warning you of avalanche danger. Still worth the trip as the views were phenomenal.

A late afternoon xc skate alone. Snowing entire skate, but passed the Canada Parks Groomer on my way up around 4 PM. Came down with a headlight in -3 temps with fresh snow making a very slow descent. Always a tiring climb to the turn around at 9 kms

Do not try to walk in winter. It is good for cross-country skiing or snow-shoeing. Had a bad experience walking the trail. There are separate paths for skiing up the road and down which ends at a particular point before the avalanche zone. Rated bad for walking not for other activities in WINTER TIME.

The correct elevation gain is 385m, not 993. Great for biking and xc skiing.

Mountain bikingGreat!

We biked the road to the lake on borrowed hotel bikes in order to avoid the parking lottery at the lake. It was an uphill grind with a few moments of reprieve, but with a moderate fitness level and the right mind set you can do it. Well worth it for the lake. Probably the most beautiful of the accessible lakes in the Rockies. Walked the lake and climbed the rock pile while there. Had tea at the concession. Parks Canada is doing a great job allowing cars in and out off of Lake Louise Road so it is not over run at the lake and there were few cars on the road. This made it feel safe and not stressful for the ride.

No shoulder at this access road at all, either walking or cycling is not safe when cars moving in and out with several sharp turn, but rock pile lake view is stunning, relax lake shore short walking

The road is fairly narrow, with variable shoulder and some blind curves. We biked it when it was closed to cars, so it was very nice to not to have to worry about getting run over. It would be a lot less pleasant when there was heavy traffic. It climbs consistently to the shoulder and then drops down a fair way to the lake - so save some climbing energy for the return trip. This road becomes a popular and classic ski in the winter (more stars)

Awesome hike to Moraine yesterday before the road opens up to cars. Took us 2.5hrs each way, not rushing and taking photos etc. incredible being up there early morning without all the tourists!

Did the ride on June 6th, 2020. Totally worth the efforts! Great road condition with only piles of snow on the side in some sections. You will see quite a few stream or waterfalls. Trees for the 2/3 of the ride with some mountain view. When you start seeing more mountains, you are not far from the lake. I just cycle for leisure and I have done a few long bike rides. Personally, I feel it’s more difficult than the Legacy Trail (Canmore to Banff) even it’s only half of the distance. It’s uphill all the way to the lake. The bonus is the stunning view when you get to the lake! Also, you will fly down all the way back. Just watch a few bumpy spots along the way. I loved it every minute. Enjoy your ride and gorgeous view of Moraine without crowds!
