Very nice hike, huge thunderstorm rolled right over top just as we were about to summit and had to run back down, will definitely be back.

First solo hike for me, only made it as far as the false summit. Overall a good hike, loads of people and dogs.

Easy hike as the incline is pretty steady so if you get a good pace going you'll do fine. Did it in 2 hours 15 min each way plus 1 hour for lunch at the top. Could do quicker but had a dog who liked to stop.

Terry, the lady in the fire outlook, is friendly and was fun to hear her stories for a few minutes.

Rocky at times so good shoes will be beneficial.

Great hike. Would do again.

This hike was amazing. 4 of us and my little dog did this hike in about 5 hours return.
Just magnificent views, panoramic views as soon as you make a left towards to peaks. Lots of pretty flowers to look at and if you're lucky you can see a helicopter land or take off on the heli pad at the top. The lady Terry who stays at the tower was super friendly and we really enjoyed listening to her stories of the tower. Hips are pretty tight today! Haha

I wish there was more water on the trail, but other than that I am definitely going back up Moose Mountain in the future.

If you are not an avid hiker then this is a moderate/hard hike. It's got a few steep parts and a lot of gravel to go through - but it's so worth it! It was easier for people that hike a lot. Either way the views are amazing at the top! You get views all the way to the top:)

Moose Mountain is a well used trail in Kananaskis west of Calgary. I read the trail guides and studied the maps etc and although the trail seemed longer than I might have liked (14 km or so round trip) the trail seemed pretty straight forward. It was a long walk but we were above tree line pretty quick which is always nice. Pleasant day, lots of flowers. The guides talked about the return and the last long haul uphill to the parking lot. They were right. All in all, for a 64 year old guy who only does a half dozen or so decent hikes a year it was definitely doable.
