A great start to our x-c ski season. Conditions were quite good considering the warmer temperatures and the trail grooming was excellent. Nice rolling terrain with moderate hills. Hitting the trail before 10 a.m. meant it wasn't too busy.

Pretty boggy as a lovely warm day. Lovely hike though.

This was a wonderful walk with lots of rolling hills and nice views of a the valley. We started down the access road and found the trail head easily but once we headed down Shell Trail we hadn't gone very far before we discovered the trail was washed out by the creek. If you head back to the cattle gate and turn towards the hill and head for the top of the road you'll find that after approx. 10 minutes you'll join up with Moose Loop trail without having to get your feet wet. Once we started the loop we took the path to the right and started hiking the trail counter clockwise and soon came across a picnic table that would make a nice lunch spot. The trail was wide and we only saw 3 horseback riders, 2 mountain bikers and a couple of motorcycles. The only drawback was there were several marshy areas where we would have preferred to have had the proper foot wear but did manage to pick our way through and found the trail again without too much trouble. The entire trail took us 3 hours and was all in all a nice afternoon. Bring some water, your proper foot wear and you'll enjoy this one.

We saw a black bear here August 23rd, about 5 km in. He was standing on his hind legs and bolted into the trees when we saw him. Just to let people know!

First time trying this trail today and it was great. Had the trail to ourselves mostly. lots of picnic table pit stops and signage along the way. Was fairly muddy and had two small water crossings. It made for a nice day!

We really enjoyed this one! Basically no one on the trail. Had to jump over the river but it just made it more exciting! Love the quiet and the view along the way. Really long trail.

Easy and wide trail, it follows a road. It is multi use with bikes and horses. Ee had to turn around at Moose Loop because the water was high and we couldn't cross the creek.

Great hike for our 8 and 12 year old! Didn’t enjoy walking the service road to get to trailhead but found a path that meandered through trees on the way back.

Easy- long(ish) but could be done by almost anyone. There’s minor elevation gain, some rolling hills, it’s a little boggy in areas (so make sure you have water resistant shoes)- but a pretty hike for all abilities.

Park in North side of West Bragg Creek Parking lot on the most western side. Walk on service road starting at west side of parking lot. Walk for a km or so and come to a trail interesection that states Moose connector on sign posts on both right and left sides of path. GO RIGHT and it takes you right to Moose Meadow loop. The entire hike and loop is about 7 km and is easy with some steep inclines. Saw 2 deer, lots of butterflies and birds. Very few other hikers or bikers. A few creeks and ponds that were pretty. Meadow was gorgeous. Good hike, but wouldn't be super interesting for kids. We took left turn at moose connector interesection at beginning in error and added 7 more kms to the hike with lots of other small meadows. Was a nice addition to hike, but not as nice as the loop. Many signs, use them if you turn left first. Would go again!

Hello All Trails. "The trail offers a number of activity options and is best used from June until October." Actually this trail is highly used as a popular x country ski trail all winter long. It is maintained by a group of local hard working volunteers and the generous donations of those who use it. It's one of the best well maintained short x country ski trails 45 minutes from Calgary. This trail is an intermediate level for those who've x country skied and would not recommend for those who are new to skiing. Yesterday I had one of the best spring skis on this trail in near perfect weather and snow conditions with our later spring. Great to be able to ski as late as 6pm with the house of longer daylight.
