Fairly easy trail, starts off going through forest. End up with beautiful views of the lake and paths finishes walking along the edge of the lake. I did it in the winter on snowshoes and it was a beautiful easy walk. It was pretty cool to walk out on Maligne lake in the fresh powder.

More of a walk than a hike, really easy, did it on our “no hike day” (legs needed a little break)

A relaxing stroll around a pretty lake with great mountain views. definitely worth it, but giving three stars because you only need to do this once ever.

We asked at the visitor center if the trail was stroller accessible. Lady said as long as you don't mind tree roots. She was wrong. Don't take your stroller. Do take bug spray. Otherwise a great hike, though not any lake view after the view point. Nice walk though!

Thank AllTrails giving me useful information on all attempted walks during recent visit to Canadian Rockies. No, this trail is not moderate, but a bit dirty, as you want to avoid the dirty ponding water and the muddy dirt-snow messy road surface, it is fun!

Lots of people on the trail. Very easy short hike. Fairly decent view at the mid point but not much different than from the main visitor centre.

Beautiful trail mainly through pines. Wonderful aromas. Gives views into two wonderful meadows at approx 1.5 and 3 k where there are signs of wildlife. Found Bear fur along the trail.

Nice easy stroll along the Maligne lakeshore and through the sub alpine forest. If there's no one around it is really nice and quiet. The trail is mostly flat, a few hills, but nothing too strenuous. There is a nice viewpoint overlooking Maligne Lake.

No dogs allowed on Opal Hills Trails, so we snowshoed the Mary Schaefer loop. Pics at the viewpoint, short and easy. Opal peak next time.

Easy with good views of the lake and surrounding mountain ranges.

Easy hike. Great to do if you have 45 minutes to kill at Maligne Lake!

Good packed snow trail with moderate elevation shifts. Recommend cleats/crampons in the packed snow. Also good for snowshoeing.
