Did this hike at the beginning of August and the view at the top is breathtaking of Malinge Lake and the surrounding mountains! Here are some of the things to watch out for. It is quite steep and this was a little surprise for us as I did not expect it for a hike that is rated as moderate. But I wouldn't rate this as difficult either because it is not that long of a hike despite the steepness. Reached the top in less than 1.5 hrs. Very near the top, you will see a path and sign to your right that says the viewpoint is closed for restoration - no problem. Keep going straight and within a minute (I think, it seemed like a minute later) a path will branch off to the right - take this right path that comes later after the sign that says the original viewpoint is closed for restoration and in less than 5 minutes you will come across a magnificent view of the lake and surrounding mountain. Too bad for some other hikers we met who were on their way down and they said that they turned back when they saw the restoration sign. And one final thing, insane amount of mosquitoes!!! I sprayed myself like four times in total on the way up.These mosquitoes even showed up on some pictures LOL! Cheers.

This is a great trail but a climb. 90% of this hike is up a strong gradient. When you get to the stone marker at the top you should go to the right which gives you a great view of lake.

Unfortunately, the overlook path was closed for restoration so we weren’t able to get to that portion but it was a great hike overall! Would definitely come back!

Really enjoyed this route. Would thoroughly recommend. While you are up there it’s worth dropping down on to a few of the other trails so that you don’t put in all the hard work for nothing.

Beautiful hike. Not challenging, and worth the 1h 45min.
